Installation
General Precautions
- Do not use the product outdoors.
- Do not spill water or liquid near connection parts.
- Do not subject the system to excessive shock or force.
- Do not pull out the power plug forcefully.
- Do not disassemble the product yourself.
- Do not exceed rated input/output ranges.
- Use only a certified power cord.
- For products with input ground, use a grounded power plug.
Depending on HDD configuration and ambient temperature, some noise may be produced.
Checking the Installation Environment
This product is a high-capacity security device. Excessive internal temperature can cause system failure or reduced product life. Consider the following:
Temperature Graph: A graph shows operating life (in HOURS) versus temperature (in °C) and life (in HOURS) versus usage time (e.g., 24HR x 365 DAY = 8,760 HR). It indicates that higher temperatures significantly reduce product life.
[Figure 1: Temperature vs. Life Expectancy Graph]
Rack Mounting Instructions:
- Ensure the rack is not sealed.
- Ensure air circulation through inlet/outlet points.
- If stacking products or devices, ensure adequate space for ventilation.
- For natural convection, place inlets at the bottom and outlets at the top.
- It is recommended to install fan motors at inlets and outlets for air circulation. Use a filter at the inlet to screen dust.
- Keep the temperature inside the rack or around the product at approximately 25°C.
Rack Mount Considerations:
- Elevated Operating Ambient: In multi-unit racks, ambient temperature may be higher. Ensure compatibility with the manufacturer's specified maximum ambient temperature (Tma).
- Reduced Air Flow: Ensure installation does not compromise required airflow for safe operation.
- Mechanical Loading: Ensure mounting does not create a hazardous condition due to uneven loading.
- Circuit Overloading: Consider the supply circuit and potential effects of overloading on overcurrent protection and wiring. Use equipment nameplate ratings.
- Reliable Earthing: Maintain reliable earthing for rack-mounted equipment, especially for connections other than direct to the branch circuit (e.g., power strips).
[Figure 2: Diagram illustrating rack ventilation and spacing]
Rack Installation
Install the Bracket-Rack as shown in the figure and fasten screws on both sides. Ensure screws are tight to prevent loosening due to vibrations.
