Safety Precautions
To avoid body hurt and damage to the device or your car, please read this manual carefully before using ES910.
The general testing process described in this manual is based on technologist's experience. Safety precautions are required in most processes to avoid body hurt and damage to the device or your car. Prior to using this device, please read vehicle maintenance codes and follow the safety precautions. Keep the following general safety precautions in mind:
- It generates CO and other poisonous air when the engine is running. To avoid this kind of hurt, please operate the car in a well-ventilated location.
- When an engine is running, many parts (such as the coolant fan, pulleys, fan belt, etc.) turn at high speed. To avoid serious injury, always be aware of moving parts. Keep a safe distance from these parts as well as other potentially moving objects.
- Engine parts become very hot when the engine is running. To prevent severe burns, avoid contact with hot engine parts.
- Connecting or disconnecting test equipment when the ignition is ON can damage test equipment and the vehicle's electronic components. Turn the ignition OFF before connecting the ES910 or disconnecting the ES910 from the vehicle's Data Link Connector (DLC).
- Fuel and battery vapors are highly flammable. To prevent an explosion, keep all sparks, heated items, and open flames away from the battery and fuel/fuel vapors. DO NOT SMOKE NEAR THE VEHICLE DURING TESTING.
About ES910
ES910 is a handy professional Scanner for BMW vehicles. It supports all OBD 16-PIN BMW vehicles, including BMW, MINI, and Rolls-Royce brands, and quickly detects Engine, ABS, Airbags, Auto Transmission, Instrument, and other control systems.

4. Appearance and Key Descriptions
The ES910 scanner features a display screen and several control buttons:
- 1. LCD DISPLAY: Indicates test results. Backlit, 320 x 240 pixel display with contrast adjustment.
- 2. ENTER BUTTON: Confirms a selection (or action) from a menu.
- 3. EXIT BUTTON: Cancels a selection (or action) from a menu or returns to the menu.
- 4. LEFT SCROLL BUTTON: In menu mode, moves through the menu and sub-menu to the left. In a data interface, moves to the previous screen text.
- 5. RIGHT SCROLL BUTTON: In menu mode, moves through the menu and sub-menu to the right. In a data interface, moves to the next screen text.
- 6. UP SCROLL BUTTON: In menu mode, moves up through the menu and sub-menu items. When retrieving data for more than one screen, moves up to the previous screen.
- 7. DOWN SCROLL BUTTON: In menu mode, moves down through the menu and sub-menu items. When retrieving data for more than one screen, moves down to the next screen.
- 8. OBD-16PIN CONNECTOR: Connects the scan tool to the vehicle's Data Link Connector (DLC).
Operation Instructions
1. Connect ES910
1.1 Turn the ignition on.
1.2 Locate the vehicle's 16-pin Data Link Connector (DLC).
The device displays a main interface, which leads to the Main Menu.
1.3 Main menu function:
- [BMW]: Select Brand BMW / MINI / Rolls-Royce.
- [Tool Setup]: Language / Device Information.
2. ES910 Features
2.1 Select Brand
Choose [BMW] and it displays as follows. The ES910 system is divided into three parts, each separated from each other. Click [BMW], and then press the [Enter] button. The screen will show all BMW car series.
For example, choosing [1-Series] displays the following:
The system then prompts for chassis selection, showing options like [E81/E82/E87/E88] and [F20/F21].
After selecting the chassis, the next screen prompts for function selection, showing options such as [Basic Functions], [Special Functions], and [Erase All Systems Fault Code].
2.2 Basic Functions
Choose [Basic Functions] and it displays the following options: [System Scan] and [Manual Select].
System Scan: Scans all vehicle systems.
Manual Selection: Displays all possible systems; select one of the systems for diagnosis.
If [Manual Select] is chosen, a list of systems appears, including [CAS Car Access System], [DME/DDE Digital motor/Diesel...], [EKPS Fuel-pump control], [EGS Transmission control], [AL Active steering], [DSC Dynamic Stability Control], and [RDC Tyre pressure control].
Choosing [DME/DDE Digital motor/Diesel electronics] presents a function selection screen with options: [Version Information], [Read Fault Codes], [Erase Fault Codes], [Read Datastream].
2.2.1 Version Information
Selecting [Version Information] displays details such as:
- VIN: LV11356
- Part Number: 7542300
- Coding Index: 11
- Diagnosis Index: 0020
- Variant Index: 3451
- Hardware Number: 00
2.2.2 Read Fault Codes
Choose [Read Fault Codes]. Use the UP or DOWN buttons to check each fault code. An example displayed is '29CF Combustion misfires Cylinder 3'.
2.2.3 Erase Fault Codes
Choose [Erase Fault Codes] then press [ENTER]. The device prompts for confirmation: 'Erase fault codes! Are you sure?'. Pressing [ENTER] again clears the fault codes. Pressing [EXIT] cancels the operation. A success message indicates: 'Erase fault codes had success. Please wait 10 seconds, Turn ignition off and Switch on again. Read fault codes to verify.' This function works on all BMWs after 2003.
2.2.4 Read Datastream
Choose [Read Datastream] then press [ENTER]. The 'Select Datastream' screen appears, allowing selection of data points such as 'All Datastream Of Page', 'Engine speed[rpm]', 'DISA potentiometer voltage[v]', 'Throttle opening[%]', and 'Air - mass flow[kg/h]'. Use LEFT/RIGHT buttons to page, UP/DOWN to select, ENTER to confirm selection, and EXIT to read the datastream.
2.3 Special Functions
Choosing [Special Functions] from the main menu displays a list of available functions:
- CBS function
- Reset control unit
- DME/DDE Motor(Diesel)Elect...
- EGS Transmission control
- Battery management
- EPB Electronic Parking brake
- Steering-angle sensor
2.3.1 CBS Functions
Selecting [CBS function] shows options like [CBS reset], [CBS correction], and [CBS Delete adaptation value...].
CBS reset 1: Covers Engine oil, Spark plugs, Front brakes, Rear brakes, Coolant, Diesel particle filter, Brake fluid, Microfilter, Vehicle inspection, Exhaust emission inspection, Vehicle check.
CBS reset 2: Covers Oil service, Inspection, Time interval, Correct follow-on service, Display service interval status.
CBS correction: Covers Engine oil, Spark plugs, Front brakes, Rear brakes, Coolant, Diesel particle filter, Brake fluid, Microfilter, Vehicle inspection, Exhaust emission inspection, Vehicle check.
2.3.2 DME/DDE Motor(Diesel)Electronics
Selecting [DME/DDE Motor(Diesel)Electronics] offers functions such as Idle speed, Clear adaptations, Register battery replacement, Remove Valvetronic servomotor, and Learning Valvetronic limit positions. Different engine functions may have some differences.
2.3.3 Battery management
Choosing [Battery management] leads to [Battery Functions], which include [Register battery change] and [Evaluate battery charge state].
For example, selecting [Register battery change] prompts 'What do you wish to do?', with options to 'Display history of battery replacement' or 'Register battery replacement'. Use the left button to scroll left and the right button to scroll right.
2.3.4 EPB Electronic Parking brake
Selecting [EPB Electronic Parking brake] displays options for [Workshop mode], [Startup], and [Parking brake: Bedding-in pro...].
2.3.5 Steering-angle sensor
Choosing [Steering-angle sensor] allows for [Adjustment, steering-angle sensor].
2.3.6 ABS/ACS/DSC Dynamic Stability Control
Selecting [ABS/ACS/DSC Dynamic Stability Control] provides options for [Brake bleeding procedure], [Mix-up check, brake lines], [DSC control unit adjustment], and [Initialization, brake pedal ang...].
2.3.7 Special case
In special cases, you may need to enter values manually. The screen shows options like [OK], [Delete], and value adjustments (+/-). It displays 'Previously programmed value: 40'. Use the left button to scroll up and down, and the enter button for selection.
Note: Rolls-Royce vehicles only support [CBS function].
2.4 Erase All Systems Fault Codes
Choose [Erase All Systems Fault Codes]. The device prompts for confirmation: 'Erase fault codes! Are you sure?'. Similar to erasing individual codes, pressing [ENTER] confirms, and [EXIT] cancels. A success message is displayed upon completion.
3. ES910 Tool Setup
From the Main Menu, choose [Tool Setup] to access settings.
3.1 Language
Choose [Language] and press [ENTER]. The available language is [English]. Note: Subsequent upgrades may add more languages.
3.2 Device Information
Choose [Device Information] and press [ENTER] to view device details.
Warranty and Service
1. Limited One Year Warranty
This warranty is expressly limited to persons who purchase AUTOPHIX products for purposes of resale or use in the ordinary course of the buyer's business.
AUTOPHIX electronic products are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for one year (12 months) from the date of delivery to the user.
This warranty does not cover any part that has been abused, altered, used for a purpose other than intended, or used in a manner inconsistent with instructions regarding use. The exclusive remedy for any automotive meter found to be defective is repair or replacement, and AUTOPHIX shall not be liable for any consequential or incidental damages.
Final determination of defects shall be made by AUTOPHIX in accordance with procedures established by AUTOPHIX. No agent, employee, or representative of AUTOPHIX has any authority to bind AUTOPHIX to any affirmation, representation, or warranty concerning AUTOPHIX automotive meters, except as stated herein.
