AUTOPHIX 9500 Multi-System Scanner User Manual
Safety Precautions
To prevent personal injury or damage to the vehicle and/or the scanning tool, please read this user manual first and observe the following safety precautions during each operation on the vehicle:
- Always perform vehicle testing in a safe environment.
- Do not attempt to operate or observe the tool while driving. Operating or observing the tool distracts the driver and may cause a fatal accident.
- Use eye protection that complies with ANSI standards.
- Work with the vehicle in a well-ventilated workspace: Exhaust fumes are poisonous.
- Shift the transmission to PARK (for automatic transmission) or NEUTRAL (for manual transmission) and ensure the parking brake is engaged.
- Keep the scanning tool dry, clean, and free of oil/water or grease. If necessary, clean the scanning tool exterior with a mild detergent on a clean cloth.
Tip: When using the product, plug it into the socket before starting the vehicle.

Appearance and Button Description
The AUTOPHIX 9500 scanner features a clear LCD display and intuitive buttons for navigation and operation.
1. LCD DISPLAY: Shows test results. Backlit display with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels.
2. [OK] BUTTON: Confirms selection (or action) from the menu.
3. [ESC] BUTTON: Cancels selection (or action) from the menu or returns to the previous menu.
4. [LEFT] SCROLL BUTTON: In menu mode, moves left through menus and submenus. When scrolling through data interface, the left button can be used to go to the previous screen.
5. [RIGHT] SCROLL BUTTON: In menu mode, moves right through menu items and submenus. When scrolling through data interface, the right button can be used to go to the next screen.
6. [UP] SCROLL BUTTON: In menu mode, moves up through menu items and submenus. When loading data for more than one screen, scroll up to the previous screen for more data.
7. [DOWN] SCROLL BUTTON: In menu mode, moves down through menu items and submenus. When loading data for more than one screen, scroll down to the next screen for more data.
8. OBD-16PIN CONNECTOR: Connects the scanning tool to the vehicle's Data Link Connector (DLC).
9. [I/M] BUTTON: Quick check of emission readiness status and verification of the drive cycle.
10. [READ DTC] BUTTON: Quick reading of vehicle fault codes.

Read Codes
Use the UP/DOWN scroll buttons in the diagnostic menu to select Read Codes and press the [OK] button.

If there are no diagnostic trouble codes, the display will show the message "No diagnostic (pending) codes are stored in the module!". Wait a few seconds or press any button to return to the diagnostic menu.

The control module number, DTC sequence, total number of detected codes, and code type (Generic or Manufacturer specific) will be displayed in the upper right corner of the screen.
Erase Codes
Notes: This function is performed with the engine off. Do not start the engine. Before performing this function, ensure you have read and recorded the fault codes. After erasing, you need to re-read the fault codes or turn on the ignition and re-read the codes. If some fault codes for severe faults still occur, first find the cause that caused the fault code, and then solve the problem. Fault codes can now be erased.
Use the UP/DOWN scroll buttons in the diagnostic menu to select Erase Codes and press the [OK] button.

I/M Readiness
I/M stands for Inspection and Maintenance, which is legislatively mandated by the government to meet federal air purity standards. I/M Readiness indicates whether various emission-related systems on the vehicle are functioning correctly and are ready for Inspection and Maintenance tests. The I/M Readiness Status Monitor function can also be used (after repairing a fault) to confirm that the repair was performed correctly and/or to check the status of the monitor.

Data Stream
The OBDII scan tool is a special diagnostic tool that communicates with the vehicle's computer. The Scan Tool allows you to view live data in "real time". This information includes values (volts, RPM, temperature, speed, etc.) and system status information (open loop, closed loop, fuel system status, etc.) generated by various sensors, switches, and actuators of the vehicle. Press the OK button.

Evaporative System Test
This function allows setting the conditions required for an evaporative system leak test, but does not actually perform the test. The vehicle manufacturer is responsible for setting the criteria for automatic test termination. Send the feedback.bin file to support@autophix.com. If you need to update, please pay attention to the following information:
- When updating the device software, only Windows 7/8/10/11 systems are supported.
- It can be updated directly in Window8 and windowJ O/J J systems.
- If the computer is a windowT system, the device driver is installed on the computer.
Note: The update software only supports Windows 7/8/10/11 systems, but does not support Windows XP and MacOS. If you do not understand the update steps in the instructions, please contact us.
