International Warranty
La Compagnie des Montres Longines, Francillon S.A. grants a twenty-four (24) month international warranty on all LONGINES® watches from the purchase date. For mechanical watches purchased from January 1, 2021, a five (5) year warranty applies. Watch straps and bracelets are covered by a 24-month warranty against material or manufacturing defects.
The warranty covers defects in materials and manufacturing present at the time of delivery. It is valid only if the warranty certificate is dated and fully completed by an official LONGINES dealer. During the warranty term, you are entitled to free repairs upon presentation of the valid certificate. If repairs cannot restore the watch to full working order, it may be replaced with an identical or similar Longines watch. The replacement watch's warranty expires on the same date as the original.
The warranty does not cover:
- Battery life
- Normal wear and tear (scratches on case/glass, alteration of colour/material of cases, straps, bracelets, chains made of leather, textile, rubber, PVD coating, bronze colour)
- Damage from unsuitable/improper use, neglect, carelessness, accidents (knocks, dents, crushing, scratches), incorrect use, or failure to follow the instruction manual
- Harm resulting directly or indirectly from using the watch, operational failure, defect, or lack of precision
- Watches handled by non-approved persons (e.g., for battery replacement, servicing, repairs) or altered from their original state without supervision from La Compagnie des Montres Longines, Francillon S.A.
Any claims beyond those specified in this warranty are expressly excluded, without prejudice to statutory rights against the manufacturer.
This manufacturer's warranty is independent of any vendor warranty and does not affect the purchaser's statutory rights against the vendor.
For servicing, entrust your watch to an official LONGINES dealer or an approved LONGINES Service Centre, listed on www.longines.com. Their servicing adheres to Longines standards.

Precautions concerning water-resistance
A watch's water-resistance can be affected by gasket degradation or accidental shocks to the crown. To maintain water-resistance, rinse your watch in soft water after contact with sea water and have its water-resistance checked annually by an approved LONGINES Service Centre. Never open your watch yourself.
IMPORTANT! Never activate the time-setting crown or push-pieces when the watch is underwater. Ensure the crown and push-pieces are pushed in or screwed down before any immersion in water.
Water-Resistance Markings:
Marking on the case-back | Meaning |
---|---|
None | Not water-resistant |
3 bar | Water-resistant up to an overpressure of 3 bar (30 m)* |
5 bar | Water-resistant up to an overpressure of 5 bar (50 m)* |
10 bar | Water-resistant up to an overpressure of 10 bar (100 m)* |
30 bar | Water-resistant up to an overpressure of 30 bar (300 m)* |
*Water-resistance values in metres are equivalent to overpressure under standard ISO 22810.
Complications – L844
This section details the functions of the L844 calibre, including hour, minute, seconds, date, and second time zone display.
Watch Component Identification:
- A: Crown
- B: Hour hand
- C: Minute hand
- D: Seconds hand
- E: GMT/24H hand
- F: Date window
- G: Rotating bezel
Screw-in Crown:
Some Longines models feature a screw-in crown. To set the time, correct the date, or wind the watch, unscrew the crown by turning it anti-clockwise. After making adjustments, return the crown to position 1, push it back in, and screw it in firmly to ensure water resistance.
Setting the Time
Setting the time and stop seconds:
Pull the crown out to position 3 when the seconds hand is at the 60-second mark. Turn the crown to set the desired time. This action also adjusts the second time zone hand. Once synchronized, push the crown back into position 1. If the watch has not been worn, wind it manually for approximately thirty revolutions.
Setting the time for the second time zone:
Pull the crown out to position 3. Turn the crown to set the second time zone hand (indicated on the 24h bezel) and the minute hand to the desired time. Push the crown back into position 1. Alternatively, the rotating bezel can be used to display the time in the second time zone.
Correcting the local time and date:
Pull the crown out to position 2. Turn the crown to move the hour hand forward or backward in whole-hour increments, without affecting the minute, seconds, or second time zone displays. The date will automatically update when the hour hand passes midnight. Adjust the date manually for months shorter than 31 days. Push the crown back into position 1.
