VIHALS Gateleg Table Assembly Instructions

Introduction

This document provides comprehensive assembly instructions for the IKEA VIHALS gateleg table. Follow these steps carefully to ensure proper and safe assembly of your furniture.

Before you begin, ensure you have all the necessary parts and tools. It is recommended to assemble on a soft surface, like a rug, to prevent scratches.

Assembly Steps

Step 1

Lay out the main table panels. Attach the first set of side panels to the base structure using two screws (100181) and the provided tool (109049). Ensure the panels are aligned correctly.

Step 2

Attach the remaining side panels to the base structure using two screws (10081692) and the provided tool (10067513). Ensure a secure fit.

Step 3

Attach the hinges (10081198 and 100372) to the underside of the main table surface. Use two screws (100181) for each hinge and secure with the springs (100372).

Step 4

Attach the vertical supports to the base structure. Use four screws (105107) and the tool (10067513) for each support. Ensure they are firmly attached.

Step 5

Carefully place the assembled base structure onto the main table surface, aligning the pre-drilled holes.

Step 6

Secure the base structure to the main table surface using ten screws (155677) and the tool (10067513). Ensure all screws are tightened.

Step 7

Attach the gateleg support mechanism to the side of the table. Use four screws (115461) and the tool (10067513) to secure it.

Step 8

Repeat Step 7 for the other side of the table, attaching the second gateleg support mechanism with four screws (115461) and the tool (10067513).

Step 9

Attach the drop-leaf supports to the main structure. Use four screws (115461) and the tool (10067513) for each support.

Step 10

Attach the hinges (101076) to the drop leaves. Use screws (10067513) to secure them in place.

Step 11

Assemble the U-shaped frame components. Use two screws (100356) and the tool (10058897) to connect the parts.

Step 12

Attach the assembled U-shaped frame to the main structure. Use four screws (101076) and the tool (10058897) to secure it.

Step 13

Attach the remaining hinges (101076) to the main structure. Use four screws (10067513) to secure them.

Step 14

Insert the circular caps (102428) into the drop-leaf mechanism to cover the screw heads and provide a finished look.

Step 15

The main assembly of the VIHALS gateleg table is now complete. Ensure all components are securely fastened.

Step 16

Demonstration of the table's folding mechanism. The drop leaves can be folded down to save space.

Step 17

Two people are shown lifting and moving the assembled table. It is advisable to have assistance when moving furniture.

Step 18

Open the drop leaves to extend the table surface. Be cautious of the pinch hazard [!] when operating the folding mechanism.

Step 19

The VIHALS gateleg table is now fully assembled and ready for use in its extended configuration.
