Safety Notice

Please read and understand the following safety information before operating this unit.

  • The unit is suitable for 12V power supply (requires grounding). Do not connect it to 24V power supply in trucks or buses, or else it will be damaged.
  • Please use genuine discs instead of incompatible discs or the unit will be damaged and/or the service life will be shortened.
  • Do not replace the fuse without the guidance of qualified personnel or the unit may be damaged and/or catch fire.
  • Please follow the traffic laws and regulations and do not watch programs or operate the unit when you are driving to avoid accidents (excluding passengers watching through rear monitor).
  • To ensure safety and normal unit operation, please ask qualified personnel to install the unit. Do not disassemble or repair the unit without authorization. To avoid damage and accidents, please contact a local car audio distributor for details.
  • Do not put the unit in a moist environment or water to avoid electric shock, damage, and/or fire due to a short circuit.
  • The mechanical drive part of the monitor uses an automatic precision transmission component. Do not pull, push or rotate the unit by force or impact the TFT screen to avoid damaging the unit.
  • Do not insert the audio plug of the vehicle into the master unit directly. Please convert with the dedicated end cable provided by the company.
  • When installing the unit, prevent metal objects from falling into the master unit from the vents to avoid a short circuit and damaging the unit.

Safety Statement

For the safety of yourself and others, do not watch programs or operate the unit when you are driving. It is prohibited by law.

The back-up camera function should be used as an auxiliary view only. The company is not responsible for any accidents occurred during backing.

Unit Installation

The installation process involves attaching two brackets to the left and right sides of the unit using supplied screws. These brackets can be adjusted forward or backward according to installation requirements.

Remote Control Operation

The remote control provides access to various functions:

  • 1 Eject: Ejects the disc.
  • 2 CLK: Displays the clock.
  • 3 MENU: Switches between the home menu and the last selected source.
  • 4 MODE: Switches between modes.
  • 5 AUDIO: Selects an audio language or channel for video.
  • 6 SUB-T: Selects a subtitle language for video.
  • 7 (Skip/Tune): Skips to the previous or next chapter, track, or file. In radio mode, tunes to a station.
  • 8 Navigation buttons: Navigates through menus.
  • 9 VOL +/-: Increases or decreases volume.
  • 10 (Answer/End Call): Answers or makes a phone call. Ends or rejects a phone call.
  • 11 Numeric buttons: Selects titles/chapters/tracks, preset stations in radio mode, or enters phone numbers/symbols in Bluetooth mode.
  • 12 /C BAND: Stops playback. In radio mode, selects a tuner band.
  • 13 OK: Confirms an entry or selection.
  • 14 ROOT: Accesses the disc menu.
  • 15 TITLE: Displays the main menu of a video disc and starts playback from the beginning.
  • 16 (Playback/Pause): Starts, pauses, or resumes playback.
  • 17 (Repeat): Selects a repeat play mode.
  • 18 MUTE: Mutes or restores volume.
  • 19 EQ: Selects a preset sound mode.
  • 20 (Power): Switches the unit on or to standby.

Panel Introduction

The front panel includes:

  • 1 Remote sensor: Aim the remote control directly at the sensor.
  • 2 Built-in microphone: Picks up sound in Bluetooth operation.
  • 3 Disc slot: Insert a disc.
  • 4 (Eject): Ejects the disc.
  • 5 MODE: Switches system mode.
  • 6 NAVI: Enters or exits the GPS navigation interface.
  • 7 Function knob: Press and hold to turn the unit on or off. Rotate to adjust volume. Briefly press to mute or restore volume when the unit is on.
  • 8 Reset/AUX/USB/SD/GPS cover: Opens to access the Reset button, AUX jack (3.5mm), USB port, SD card slot, and GPS card slot.

Settings Menus

There are seven Setting Menus:

General Settings - Menu 1

Allows configuration of:

  • Wallpaper: Touch to set the home menu background.
  • Retain ACC Power: Select delay time (seconds) for shutdown after vehicle powers down.
  • Clock: Access clock settings.
  • Audio: Access audio settings.
  • Tuner: Access tuner settings.
  • Navi Voice Mix: Adjust navigation voice volume relative to other audio.
  • Use GPS Time: Enable/disable using GPS time.
  • Summer Time: Turn summer time on or off.
  • Time Zone: Select the time zone for GPS time.

Camera Settings - Menu 2

Configures camera inputs:

  • Camera Trigger: Select Front/Rear/Off to display camera views or no view when reversing.
  • Rear Camera: Enable or disable the rear camera input.
  • Rear Cam Pwr: Enable or disable power to the rear camera.
  • Front Camera: Enable or disable the front camera input.
  • Front Cam Pwr: Enable or disable power to the front camera.
  • Rear Camera Delay / Front Camera Delay: Set a delay (1/2/3 seconds or off) for camera view activation when shifting to reverse.

Clock Settings - Menu 3

Adjusts clock settings:

  • Mode: Set clock mode to 12 or 24 hour.
  • Hour: Set the hour.
  • Min: Set the minute.
  • AM/PM: Set AM/PM for 12-hour mode.

Audio Settings - Menu 4

Adjusts audio levels and EQ:

  • Internal Amp: Controls internal amplifier output.
  • Startup Volume: Sets the default volume upon startup.
  • TUNER Level, DISC Level, SD Level, PHONE Level, STREAMING Level, AUX IN Level, USB Level, NAVI Level: Adjust volume levels for different sources.
  • Equalizer: Provides controls for frequency bands (60Hz, 150Hz, 400Hz, 1kHz, 3kHz, 7kHz, 15kHz, 20kHz), balance, fade, and subwoofer settings. Options include User, Reset, and Loud.
  • Position: Adjusts audio balance and fade.

Tuner Settings - Menu 5

Configures radio reception:

  • Tuner Region: Select America or EU region for radio stations.
  • Auto Preset: Performs radio search and stores stations.
  • Local/Distance: Select "Local" for strong signals (urban areas) or "Distance" for weaker signals (countryside).
  • Stereo/Mono: Select "Stereo" for FM stereo broadcast or "Mono" to improve sound quality with weak FM signals.

Illumination Settings - Menu 6

Adjusts display illumination:

  • Illumination Trigger: Enable or disable automatic dimming when headlights are on.
  • Brightness Day: Sets screen brightness.
  • Gamma Day: Sets screen contrast.

About Settings - Menu 7

Provides system information:

  • Screen Calibration: Enters the touch calibration interface.
  • Version: Displays the unit's version number.
  • System Reset: Restores the unit to factory settings.
  • E.U.L.A.: Selects whether to display the End User License Agreement upon booting.

Tuner Operation

Basic Operation:

  • Touch the home icon to return to the home page.
  • Short press the seek buttons (< or >) to seek backwards or forwards.
  • Long press the seek buttons to enter manual mode for fine-tuning frequency.
  • Short press to select a preset station; long press to save the current station.

Disc/CD/USB/SD Playback

DVD Mode Operation

Control DVD playback:

  • Select title/chapter.
  • Move to previous chapter (short press) or rewind (long press).
  • Playback/pause.
  • Move to next chapter (short press) or fast forward (long press).
  • Enter DVD root menu.
  • Navigate menu pages.
  • Change repeat mode (repeat all, repeat off, repeat chapter, repeat title).
  • Change random play mode.
  • Enter picture settings page.
  • Enter DVD title menu.
  • Select subtitle language.
  • Switch picture format (4:3 or 16:9).
  • Select DVD audio language.
  • Select DVD video angle.

Note: Video cannot be displayed unless the parking brake is applied. A warning message will appear if the parking brake wire is not installed correctly.

Media Playing - CD Audio

Manage CD audio playback:

  • View music ID3 information.
  • Monitor playback time.
  • Change play mode (repeat all, repeat directory, repeat single, sequential play, shuffle).
  • Return to previous chapter.
  • Playback/pause.
  • Go to next chapter.
  • Enter file list page.

CD Source Menu

Access the CD track menu to view or change tracks manually.

USB/SD Music/Video/Picture

Access music, video, or picture files via USB or SD card. The music menu provides more ID3 information.

Bluetooth Operation

Connect and use Bluetooth devices for calls and audio streaming.

Bluetooth Operation Menu

Click the phone icon to enter the Bluetooth interface.

  • Bluetooth setting menu: Turn Bluetooth on/off. The icon changes color to indicate pairing status. Connect automatically. Answer automatically. PIN code is "0000" by default. Default Bluetooth name is "BOSS AUDIO BV965NV".
  • Function area: Access dialing keypad, phonebook, call history, pairing interface, and settings.

Bluetooth Keypad

Dial phone numbers and make calls using the on-screen keypad. Press the delete button (Backspace symbol) to correct errors.

Bluetooth Call

Manage phone calls: view contact name, select talk mode (phone or Bluetooth), mute/unmute microphone, use keypad, and hang up.

Bluetooth Phonebook

Search for contacts by name or phone number. View the contact list.

Bluetooth Phone Call History

View recent calls, missed calls, dialed numbers, and received numbers.

Bluetooth Music-A2DP

Stream music via Bluetooth: skip tracks, play/pause, and access EQ settings.

Bluetooth Pair Device

To disconnect a paired device, go to "Device" and select "Disconnect this Device". To remove a device from memory, go to "Device" and select "Forget this Device".

Photos

View photos stored on USB or SD media:

  • Keypad: Enter a number to select a file.
  • Skip to previous/next picture.
  • Play/Pause: Start or pause picture playback. Each picture plays for 5 seconds before auto-advancing.
  • List: Enter the file list.
  • Navigate menu pages.
  • Select repeat mode.
  • Select random play mode.
  • Enter picture settings page.
  • Rotate the picture.
  • Zoom in/out.

Camera/Aux/AV Menu

Front Camera

Turn on the switching interface for rear and front cameras simultaneously.

Rear Camera

The rear view function displays the video signal automatically when reversing the car and returns to the previous source when the car is moved out of reverse.

AUX IN

Connect an external audio device via the 3.5mm jack in the front panel and touch the AUX IN icon in the home menu.

Connect an external video and audio device via RCA jacks and touch the AV INPUT icon in the home menu.

Warranty

BOSS Audio Systems warrants its products against material or craftsmanship defects in the U.S. for:

  • 1 Year: Mobile Video, CD/DVD Receivers, Subwoofers, Speakers, Tweeters, ATV/UTV and Motorcycle Sound Systems. Qualified purchases may receive an additional two years (3 years total) when installed by a certified retailer (proof of purchase required).
  • 5 Year: Amplifiers. Qualified purchases may receive an additional one year (6 years total) when installed by a certified retailer (proof of purchase required).
  • 1 Year: All other Electronics and Accessories. No extended warranty is available for these items.
