Ubiquiti G5 Pro Vision Enhancer Installation Guide

Introduction

This guide provides detailed instructions for installing the Ubiquiti G5 Pro Vision Enhancer security camera. It covers various mounting options, cable management, and final camera adjustments to ensure proper setup and functionality.

General Installation Notes

Ethernet Cable Requirements

Ensure the Ethernet cable has a diameter between 5mm and 6mm. The cable connector must be properly terminated without sharp bends (❌) or exposed, frayed wires (❌). Improper termination or cable damage can lead to connectivity issues. (✅)

Optimal Camera Placement and Rain Protection

For optimal performance and to prevent water ingress, ensure the camera is mounted at least 60cm (approximately 2 feet) from any adjacent walls or corners, whether on a wall or ceiling. (Diagrams show camera positioned ≥60cm from walls/corners.)

When installing outdoors, protect all cable connections from direct rain and moisture. Ensure the cable entry point is sealed and not exposed to precipitation. (A cloud with raindrops symbol indicates outdoor conditions. A checkmark shows a properly protected cable entry, while X marks show exposed cable entries.)
