In 1986, Lochinvar® introduced the Power-Fin® boiler to a market seeking a more efficient hydronic heating solution. Almost four decades later, the market is looking again. LECTRUS™ commercial electric boilers bring yet another solution to Lochinvar's diverse product portfolio. LECTRUS Key Features
The LECTRUS boiler incorporates several advanced features for efficient and reliable operation:
- 1. MAIN CONTROL BOARD: Central processing unit for boiler functions.
- 2. MODULATION CONTROL BOARD: Rotates the operation of each element bank based on average runtime, ensuring equal cycles across contactors and equal runtime for all heating elements.
- 3. LOW WATER CUT-OFF PROBE: Safety feature to prevent operation when water levels are critically low.
- 4. ROBUST INCOLOY SHEATHED 15kW HEATING ELEMENTS: Durable heating elements designed for longevity and high performance.
- 5. 3" NPT ASME INSPECTION OPENING: Standardized opening for inspection and maintenance, meeting ASME standards.
- 6. CONTACTORS: Electrical switches that control the power to the heating elements.
- 7. FUSE BLOCKS: Provide overcurrent protection for electrical circuits.
Lochinvar SMART SYSTEM™
LECTRUS features Lochinvar's popular SMART SYSTEM™ control platform. This interface, used across Lochinvar boilers for years, provides a familiar experience for customers, simplifying product setup and troubleshooting. It allows cascading of up to eight LECTRUS boilers or use of Front End Loading functionality with LECTRUS and other condensing or non-condensing Lochinvar boilers.
THE OPTION YOU NEED - IS STANDARD
Triac Board(s): Unlike other electric boilers that may require expensive upgrades, LECTRUS features a fully modulating control as standard construction. Every LECTRUS boiler is built with a modulating element bank, which allows for precise temperature control, reduces contactor cycles, and helps extend component life.
Vessel Engineering and Manufacturing Expertise
Lochinvar has extensive experience in manufacturing high-quality vessels and heat exchangers, having built over 410,000 ASME rated units. This includes:
- Custom Hi-Power electric water heaters from 120-2,500 gallons
- Custom storage tanks up to 5,000 gallons
- Power-Fin's copper heat exchanger
- CREST fire tube heat exchanger
This deep engineering and manufacturing expertise makes Lochinvar uniquely qualified to construct the core components of LECTRUS boilers.

The LECTRUS boiler is available in two vessel sizes:
- 17-gallon vessel for 15-90kW models
- 32-gallon vessel for 105-150kW models
