Block Diagram
The block diagram illustrates the internal connections and signal flow within the ADSP1701-2.4U. It shows the ADAU1701 Digital Audio Processor at the core, connected to power management (SGM2028 regulators), input (3.5mm RCA Input), output (3.5mm RCA Output), volume control ICs (PT2259), and potentiometers.
Unleashing the Capabilities of Digital Audio Processor IC Chipset (ADAU1701): The ADAU1701 is a single-chip audio system with a 28-/56-bit audio DSP, ADCs, DACs, and micro-controller-like control. It features two ADCs and four DACs, providing a 98.5 dB dynamic range. ADC THD + N is -83 dB, and DAC THD + N is -90 dB. It supports easy connections to additional ADCs and DACs via digital ports, and communication occurs through I2C® or 6-pin JST PH.
Note: LED in WONDOM ADSP ADAU1701 Platform: The LED color can be customized. The LED blinks while SigmaStudio is updating.
Note: Potentiometer and toggle switch function: Functionality is defined by SigmaStudio software.
Default Configuration
Front Panel Controls:
- Power LED: Indicates when the device is powered ON.
- BUSY LED: Controlled by MP7. Behavior depends on MP7's configuration (GPIO or I2S data input).
- SW1 - Mute Control: Functions as a mute control. Set to 1 to mute, 0 to unmute. Corresponds to MPO/GPIO0.
- SW2 - Phase Control: Functions as a phase control. Set to 1 for 180° phase, 0 for 0° phase. Corresponds to MP6/GPIO6.
- POT1 - HPF of BANK B: Functions as the High-pass filter for the Mid-range output channel (BANK B). Adjustable frequency range: 3kHz to 20kHz.
- POT2 - LPF of BANK A: Functions as the Low-pass filter for the Bass output channel (BANK A). Adjustable frequency range: 210Hz to 3kHz.
- POT3 - HPF of BANK A: Functions as the High-pass filter for the Bass output channel (BANK A). Adjustable frequency range: 10Hz to 310Hz.
- POT4 - Overall Volume: Functions as the Master volume control. Rotating clockwise increases volume; anticlockwise decreases it.
Rear Panel Connections:
- 9. Power Supply: USB Type-C port for powering the unit (DC5V, 1A).
- 10. POT5 - Relative Gain Control: Controls the relative gain between BANK A and BANK B outputs. Range: -60dB to 0dB. Clockwise rotation attenuates BANK B; anticlockwise attenuates BANK A. Functionality can be customized via SigmaStudio.
- 11. ICP PORT: For connection with WONDOM ICP programmer to enable SigmaStudio programming. Includes pin definitions for SDA, SCL, WP, GND, +5V, and DSP RST.
- 12. 2CH Audio Input: Supports 2CH analog input via RCA connectors (ADCO and ADC1).
- 13. 4CH Audio Output: Provides 4 output channels (DAC0&DAC1 for bass, DAC2&DAC3 for mid-range) integrated with a 2-way digital crossover.
POT5 (MP2 / ADC1) Functional Diagram: Illustrates how POT5 adjusts the relative gain between BANK A and BANK B.
