YHT-570 Home Theater in a Box
Yamaha created this package to greatly enhance your audio and home theater enjoyment. This Quick-Connect Poster will help you get started. Follow the steps to connect the speakers first. Then connect your DVD Player and other components. Refer to your Owner's Manuals as well as those that came with your other components for complete instructions and precautions. Be sure that all components are not plugged in while making connections. You will need the following which are not included in the package: Phillips screwdriver, wire cutter/stripper, optional for wall mounting: brackets, toggle bolts, molly anchor screws or sheet metal screws.
1 Your System
Inspect Contents: After unpacking, inspect the contents to confirm you have the following items: two front speakers, two surround speakers, one center speaker, one subwoofer, HTR-5930 A/V Receiver with remote control, DV-C6860 DVD Player with remote control, speaker wire, subwoofer RCA cable, and audio/video RCA cable. Also included, but not shown, are AM and FM antennas and related Owner's Manuals.

2 Room Layout
Speaker Placement: After connecting the speakers, place them in the approximate positions shown in the diagram.

3 & 4 Connect Speaker Wire
Cut speaker wire to appropriate lengths for all speaker connections. Connect speaker wire for front speakers and surround speakers. The positive [+] side of the wire (often with a white stripe) attaches to the red terminal, and the negative [-] side attaches to the black terminal. Refer to your HTR-5930 Owner's Manual for more information on speaker wire connections.
Mount Surround Speakers (Optional): Fasten mounting screws into a firm wall or wall support. Leave approximately 1/4 inch (6.35 mm) space between the screw head and the wall. Hang the keyholes on the speaker backs on the protruding screws.

5 & 6 Speaker Connections
Connect the speaker wires for the front speakers, surround speakers, and center speaker to the corresponding terminals on the HTR-5930 Receiver. Ensure the positive [+] side of the wire with the white stripe attaches to the red terminal, and the negative [-] side attaches to the black terminal.
? CAUTION: Receiver must not be plugged in while connecting speakers.

7 Subwoofer Connection
Connect the subwoofer RCA cable to the YST-SW030 Subwoofer. Set the subwoofer's VOLUME control to the half-way mark and the POWER switch to OFF. Connect the other end of the RCA cable to the receiver.
⚠️ WARNING: Receiver must not be plugged in while connecting speakers.

8 Antenna Connection
Connect the AM loop antenna and the indoor FM antenna to the receiver. Keep the receiver unplugged during this process. For more information about obtaining clear reception and grounding, see your Owner's Manual.

9 DVD Player Connection
Connect RCA audio/video cables from the DV-C6860 DVD Player to the HTR-5930 Receiver. Connect the yellow cable to the "DVD" video input and the red cable to the "Digital Input DVD Coaxial" on the receiver. Leave the white audio cable unplugged as shown.
⚠️ WARNING: Components must not be plugged in while connecting them. Wait until all connections are made before plugging in your components.

10 VCR Connection
Connect audio/video cables (not included) from your VCR's audio/video OUT terminals to the receiver's corresponding IN terminals as shown. Note: The VCR shown is for illustration purposes only. When using a hi-fi stereo VCR, set the Tuner/Line switch on the VCR to "Line" position to record from another source connected to the HTR-5930 receiver.

11 Video Game Console Connection
Connect RCA audio/video cables (not included) from your Video Game Console or Video Camera's audio/video OUT terminals to the receiver's corresponding IN terminals as shown.

12 DSS/Cable/HDTV Tuner Connection
Connect RCA audio/video cables (not included) and an optional optical cable (not pictured) from the DSS/Cable/HDTV Tuner Box's A/V OUT connections to the receiver's "DTV/CBL" terminals as shown.

13 Video Monitor Connection
Connect an RCA video cable (not included) from the receiver's "Monitor OUT" terminal to your video monitor's video IN terminal as shown.

14 CD Player Connection
Connect RCA audio cables (not included) from your CD Player's audio OUT terminals to the receiver's "CD" terminals as shown. If your CD Player has a digital output terminal, connect a digital cable (not included) to the HTR-5930 Receiver's Digital Input terminal. See your HTR-5930 Owner's Manual for more information.

15 MD/CD-R Player Connection
Connect RCA audio cables (not included) from your MD/CD-R Recorder's audio OUT terminals to the receiver's "MD/CD-R" terminals as shown.

16 Final Steps
Plug in the receiver and other components. Power on the receiver first, and then the other components. Adjust the volume on the receiver. Please see each of your respective Owner's Manuals for recommended guidelines and settings.
