2 About speakers
Front speakers: Carry most of the music/sound effects. Place them on both sides of your TV set, approximately at the same height as the TV set.
Center speaker: Emits center sound such as dialog. Place it precisely between the front speakers. It can be placed on top of the TV if the top is flat, on the floor under the TV, or inside the TV rack. Ensure a stable position.
Surround speakers: Provide surround/ambient effects. Place them behind your listening position, facing slightly inward, about 1.8 m (approx. 6 feet) from the floor.
Subwoofer: Adds low-frequency bass sound. Recommended placement is on the outside of either the right or the left front speaker. For more details, refer to "3 Placing the speakers - Subwoofer".
3 Placing the speakers
Before making connections, place all speakers in their respective positions. Speaker positioning is crucial for overall sound quality.
Mounting the speakers on the wall
You can mount the front and/or surround speakers on a wall using the brackets attached to their back panels.
- Fasten two screws into a firm wall or wall support at the specified interval.
- Hang the speaker by mounting the holes on the protruding screws. Ensure the screws are securely affixed by the narrow parts of the holes.
Caution:
- Each speaker weighs 0.8 kg (1.76 lbs).
- Do not mount speakers on thin plywood or soft wall surfaces to prevent detachment and potential injury or damage.
- Avoid using nails, adhesives, or unstable hardware for mounting.
- Secure speaker cables to the wall to prevent tripping hazards.
- Choose a mounting position that avoids head or face injury.
Installing the speakers on commercially available speaker stands
To install speakers on stands, attach the provided brackets (option) to the bottom of the speakers using screws (option).
Subwoofer placement
It is recommended to place the subwoofer on the outside of either the right or the left front speaker. If the subwoofer is placed directly facing the wall, bass sound may be reduced due to sound cancellation. To prevent this, position the subwoofer obliquely to the wall.
Use the non-skid pads
Attach the provided non-skid pads to the four corners on the bottom of the subwoofer to prevent movement from vibrations.
4 Connecting speakers and antennas to the receiver
Before connecting
- Cut the supplied speaker cable to the appropriate length.
- Remove the insulation coating at the extremity of each speaker cable.
- Ensure no uninsulated bare wires touch each other to prevent damage.
- Twist bare wires together securely to prevent short circuits.
Notes:
- Do not insert insulation coating into the terminal hole; sound may not be produced.
- Keep speaker cables as short as possible and do not bundle or roll up excess cable.
- Faulty connections may result in no sound from the speakers.
Connecting to the receiver terminals
Speaker terminals:
- Loosen the knob.
- Insert the bare wire core of the speaker cable into the terminal hole.
- Tighten the knob to secure the wire.
- Gently pull the cable to test the connection security.
Antennas:
- Locate the AM loop antenna and indoor FM antenna and connect them to the receiver. Refer to the "HTR-5930 Owner’s Manual" for details.

1 Surround speakers: Connect the speaker cables to the SURROUND terminals on the receiver.
2 Antennas: Connect the AM loop antenna and indoor FM antenna to the receiver.
