Renogy Smart Relay (Zigbee)
Version A0
Introduction
Thanks to its built-in Zigbee 3.0 communication module, the Smart Relay works with Renogy ONE to create a Zigbee LAN. This allows for intelligent control of other connected devices and enables scene synchronization.
This User Manual contains instructions for the Smart Relay. Please read it carefully before using the device.
CAUTION
- Please avoid exposing the components to direct sunlight.
- Do NOT allow water to enter the Smart Relay.
- To ensure quality wireless communication, please keep it away from metal objects at a distance of at least 20 cm (7.88 inches).
- After wiring, use PE double-sided adhesive to secure the Smart Relay to the selected mounting location.
WARNING
- Do NOT disassemble the Smart Relay as no parts inside require maintenance or repair.
- The Smart Relay can only be powered by a DC power supply (8V-30V); otherwise, it will be damaged. Risk of electric shock! Make sure the power supply is powered off before connection.
- When wiring, ensure the wire retainer in the hole is fully opened.
Product Overview
Wiring Holes and Functions
Wiring Holes | Function |
---|---|
V+/V- | Smart Relay power supply hole, connecting to the positive/negative terminal of a DC power supply (8V-30V). |
K1 | Connecting to a push button switch to turn devices on or off. |
S1 | Connecting to a rocker switch to turn devices on or off. |
IN | Connecting to the fire wire of an AC power supply or the positive terminal of a DC power supply. |
OUT | Connecting to the positive side of the load. |
Device Components
The Smart Relay features an LED light and a Button.
- LED light: Displays the current operating status of the Smart Relay.
- Flashing: Restoring to factory settings and waiting for network distribution (flashes for 3 minutes).
- On: Relay status is ON.
- Off: Relay status is OFF.
- Button: Press to power on/off the Smart Relay. Long press for 5 seconds for a factory reset.
Wiring Diagram
AC Load
Description of Diagram: The diagram shows the Smart Relay connected to an AC load. The wiring includes connections for AC Power Supply (L and N), the Smart Relay's IN and OUT terminals, and a rocker switch or push button switch connected to S1 or K1 respectively. The diagram also indicates positive and negative terminals for the DC power supply, though it's shown separately from the AC load connection.
Connections:
- AC Power Supply (L) connects to the Smart Relay's IN terminal.
- AC load connects to the Smart Relay's OUT terminal.
- A rocker switch can be connected to S1, or a push button switch to K1.
- The DC Power Supply's positive terminal connects to V+, and the negative terminal to V-.
WARNING
- Connect the AC Power Supply to OUT/IN only; otherwise, the Smart Relay may be damaged.
- The input voltage of the AC Power Supply shall not exceed 250 V.
- For an AC load, the operating voltage should be ≤ 250 V, and the operating current should be ≤ 16 A.
- You can choose to connect your switch(es) to either, neither, or both of S1 and K1 to your circuit as needed.
DC Load
Description of Diagram: This diagram illustrates the Smart Relay connected to a DC load. Similar to the AC load diagram, it shows the Smart Relay's terminals (OUT, IN, S1, K1, V-, V+) and connections for a DC Power Supply. A rocker switch or push button switch can be connected to S1 or K1.
Connections:
- The DC Power Supply's positive terminal connects to V+.
- The DC Power Supply's negative terminal connects to V-.
- The DC load connects to the Smart Relay's OUT terminal.
- The IN terminal can be used for an AC power supply's fire wire or a DC power supply's positive terminal.
- A rocker switch can be connected to S1, or a push button switch to K1.
WARNING
- The input voltage of the DC Power Supply shall not exceed 30 V.
- For a DC load, the operating voltage should be ≤ 30 V, and the operating current should be ≤ 16 A.
- You can choose to connect your switch(es) to either, neither, or both of S1 and K1 to your circuit as needed.
Adding Smart Relay (Zigbee) to Renogy ONE
The Smart Relay should be used in association with Renogy ONE. For more detailed instructions, please refer to the User Manual of Renogy ONE.
Factory Reset
There are three methods to perform a factory reset:
- Long press the Button for 5 seconds until the LED indicator flashes.
- Long press the push button switch connected to K1 until the LED indicator flashes.
- Turn the rocker switch connected to S1 on and off 10 times continuously.
