Foreword
Thank you for purchasing the Godox GM6S Pro monitor. This device is designed for use with DSLR cameras and camcorders, offering professional auxiliary functions suitable for onsite monitoring and recording during photography. Please read this manual carefully before use to ensure correct operation and to maximize the product's performance.
Main Features
- 5.5-inch IPS HD ultra-bright touch screen with a wide viewing angle.
- HDMI 4K@60Hz input and output for synchronized monitoring.
- 3.5mm audio jack for real-time audio monitoring.
- Supports camera control via touch operation, including shooting, recording, auto focus, focusing, ISO, aperture, and shutter adjustments.
- Supports LUT (Look-Up Table) import and firmware upgrades via SD card, compatible with 17/32/33/64/65 cubic files.
- Offers three power supply options: DC power supply, USB-C power supply, and NP-F battery power supply.

Operating Instruction
I. Button Operation
- 1. Power Switch Button ?: Short press to power on, long press to power off. When powered on, a short press toggles the touch function on/off. The touch function is off when the panel is locked (indicated by a ? icon) and on when unlocked (indicated by a ? icon).
- 2. Menu Button: Press to enter the main menu. Turn left or right to navigate options and press to confirm and set.
- 3. Return Button ◀️: Press to return to the previous menu or exit menus. Can be used with the menu button to change parameters.
- 4. Shortcut Keys (F1-F5): These keys can be customized to functions such as Camera Control, LUT Switch, Focus Assist, False Color, Center Marker, Safety Marker, Grid Line, Marker Mat, Zebra, Monochrome, Freeze, Pixel to Pixel, Image Flip, De-Squeeze, Waveform, All Waveform, Audio Meter, Registration, Screen Shot, and Mute.
II. Touch Operation
- 1. Call Out/Hide the Menu: Double-tap the left side of the screen to open the main menu. Tap within the menu area to select and set options; tap outside the menu area to close it.
- 2. Call Out/Hide the Camera Control Menu: When camera control is active, swipe left from the right edge of the screen to open the camera control menu. Tap outside the menu to close it.
- 3. Call Out/Hide the Waveform: When the waveform function is active, it appears in the bottom right of the panel. Swipe down on the waveform area to hide it, and swipe up to display it.
III. Menu Function Description
1. Focus Assist
This function aids in fast image focusing by highlighting the sharpest areas with edge lines. Four color options are available: Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow.

2. Zebra
The Zebra feature helps check exposure levels. It displays diagonal lines over areas exceeding a set exposure threshold. Adjustable levels range from 50IRE to 105IRE in 12 steps, aiding in achieving optimal exposure.

3. Waveform
Provides waveform analysis with four options: Y, YUV, RGB, Y Histogram, and Vector. Enabling "All Waveform" displays all options simultaneously for intuitive image analysis.

4. LUT (Look-Up Table)
LUT Manage: The monitor supports up to 25 LUT files and is compatible with SD cards formatted as NTFS or FAT32.
- LUT Import: Navigate to "LUT Manage", select .cube files from the SD card, and tap "Import" to load them.
- LUT Delete: In "LUT Manage", select LUT files stored locally and tap "Delete" to remove them.
LUT Load: Apply selected LUT files to transform color gamut, restore colors, and stylize the image.
Compared: Toggle this option to view a side-by-side comparison of the applied LUT and the original video.

5. Assist Functions
- De-squeeze: Monitors images shot with anamorphic lenses. Allows selection of squeeze ratios (AUTO, 16:9, 4:3, or 1.00x to 3.00x) for correction.
- Registration: Verifies camera articulation alignment for consistent scenes.
- Screen Shot: Capture screenshots and name files. (Note: Only supports FAT32 format SD cards).
- Center Marker: Displays a cross marker on the screen.
- Safety Marker: Provides various safety markers for shooting.
- Marker Mat: Offers adjustable marker ratios and transparency (default 50%) for post-production needs.
- Grid Line: Provides different grid line options for composition assistance.
- Marker Color: Allows selection of up to 6 colors for Center Marker, Safety Marker, Marker Mat, and Grid Line for high contrast.

6. Basics
- Audio Meter: Monitors audio levels by displaying peaks that slowly recede.
- False Color: Offers three false color modes to help observe exposure in different areas of the image.
- Monochrome: Allows switching pixel display to red, green, blue, or gray for quick hue and saturation adjustments.
- Pixel to Pixel: Enables a 1:1 pixel mapping display of the video and screen.
- Zoom: Provides zoom capabilities at 2x, 4x, and custom magnifications.
7. Display
- Color Space: Select from standard REC.709, HLG, or original color space.
- Brightness: Adjusts screen brightness from 0% to 100% (default 50%).
- Contrast: Adjusts image contrast from 0% to 100% (default 50%).
- Saturation: Adjusts color saturation from 0% to 100% (default 50%).
- Sharpness: Adjusts image sharpness from 0% to 100% (default 0%). Decreasing sharpness softens the image, while increasing it sharpens it.
- RGB: Manually adjust white balance by offsetting Red, Green, and Blue values from 0 to 255 (default 128).
- Reset: Resets current user color settings to default values.

8. System
- User Setting: Three customizable user modes are available.
- Language: Supports English, Chinese, German, Japanese, French, Italian, Spanish, and Korean.
- Battery Tip: Option to display current battery level.
- Volume: Adjusts monitoring volume from 0% to 100% (default 50%).
- Backlight: Adjusts screen backlight brightness from 0% to 100% (default 80%).
- Shortcut: Configure up to 5 shortcut keys with various functions.
- Camera Control: Enable camera control by connecting a compatible camera via the Monitor Camera Control Cable (sold separately). Refer to the "Accessories Instruction" section for details.
- Image Flip: Provides up-down mirror flip, left-right mirror flip, auto (sensor), and up-down flip modes.
- Data Range: Options for Limited, Full, and Extended data ranges.
- Restore Factory: Clears all user settings and restores the device to factory defaults.

Upgrade
Follow these steps to upgrade the monitor's firmware:
- Prepare an SD card formatted with FAT32 or NTFS and an SD card reader (if your PC lacks an SD card slot).
- Extract the upgrade files to the root directory of the SD card. Ensure the file name remains
xxxx.bin
; changing it will cause the upgrade to fail. - Insert the SD card into the monitor's slot with the connector facing the screen. Turn on the power.
- Tap "upgrade" to begin. Observe on-screen warnings, maintain power supply, and do not remove the card during the process.
- The monitor will automatically restart upon completion.
Tip: For optimal performance, set the camera's HDMI output to a fixed resolution. Auto settings or 1080/2160 may cause longer latency during playback.

Accessories Instruction
Hood
Attachment:
- Align the bottom of the hood with the monitor frame and gently press to ensure it fits snugly, with the bottom buckle fully embedded in the slot.
- Snap the top buckle into the slot along the monitor's top edge. Verify all buckles are securely attached.
Detachment:
- The hood uses reinforced buckles for stability, requiring moderate force for attachment and detachment.
- Place fingers along the top edge, press the thumb inside the buckle, and apply outward force to release the top buckle.
- Once buckles are released, carefully separate the hood from the monitor frame.
Detachment with Crowbar: Insert the crowbar into the gap between the monitor and hood, then apply outward force to release the top buckle.

Cold Shoe Mount
Align the 1/4" screw of the cold shoe mount with the monitor's 1/4" extended ports (top, bottom, or right side). Turn clockwise to install and counter-clockwise to remove. A mini wrench can be used if manual tightening is insufficient. The cold shoe base can be mounted to a camera or rig.

Monitor Camera Control Cable (Sold Separately)
Connect the monitor and a compatible camera using the camera control cable to enable camera control functions such as shooting, recording, auto focus, focusing, ISO, aperture, and shutter. Note: Ensure camera compatibility and refer to the cable's manual for specific functions and supported models.
Camera Control Function Introduction: When camera control is active, swipe left from the right edge of the screen to access the camera control menu. Tap outside the menu to hide it.

Function Icons:
- Shooting: Click to control the camera to shoot.
- Recording: Click to control the camera to record.
- Auto focus: Click to control the camera to automatically focus.
- Focusing: Enter a secondary menu to adjust focal length manually.
- ISO: Displays current photosensitivity; click to enter a secondary menu for manual adjustment.
- Aperture: Displays current aperture; click to enter a secondary menu for manual adjustment.
- Shutter: Displays current shutter speed; click to enter a secondary menu for manual adjustment.
Installing and Detaching the Battery
Installation: Slide the lithium battery into the battery compartment following the direction of the arrow.
Detachment: Push down the self-lock battery remove button and then slide out the lithium battery.

How to Get the Maintenance Service
For maintenance service, contact the product distributor or authorized service institutions. You may also contact Godox after-sale service. When applying for service, provide a valid warranty card. If a valid card is unavailable, service may be offered upon confirmation that the product or accessory falls within the maintenance scope, but this is not an obligation.
Inapplicable Cases
The guarantee and service offered are not applicable in the following situations:
- Product or accessory has expired warranty period.
- Breakage or damage due to inappropriate usage, maintenance, or preservation (e.g., improper packing, usage, plugging/unplugging external equipment, dropping, squeezing, exposure to improper temperature, solvents, acids, bases, water, or damp environments).
- Breakage or damage caused by non-authorized installation, maintenance, alteration, addition, or detachment.
- Original identifying information of the product or accessory has been modified, altered, or removed.
- No valid warranty card.
- Breakage or damage caused by using illegally authorized, nonstandard, or non-public released software.
- Breakage or damage caused by force majeure or accident.
- Breakage or damage not attributable to the product itself.
In such cases, seek solutions from the responsible parties. Godox assumes no responsibility. Damage caused by parts, accessories, or software beyond the warranty period or scope is not covered. Normal discoloration, abrasion, and consumption are not considered breakage within the maintenance scope.
