ZigBee Pro Module Installation
Installation Procedure
- Remove security screw (if any) on the bottom of the Room Controller cover.
- Open the unit by pulling on the bottom side of the Room Controller.
[Illustration of a Room Controller unit, showing the bottom side where a screw might be located.] - Carefully remove the Room Controller from its base.
- Locate the gap in the upper-right corner of the Room Controller's Motherboard.
- Align the connector pins on the ZigBee Pro module with the holes on the Motherboard.
[Diagram showing the alignment of the ZigBee Pro module's connector pins with the holes on the Room Controller's motherboard.] - Gently press the ZigBee Pro module into the Room Controller's Motherboard until it fits snugly in place.
NOTE: Do not press too hard to avoid damage to the ZigBee Pro module. - Gently align the cover to the top of the base and snap it into place from the bottom.

Quick Setup
This quick setup demonstrates how to pair a ZigBee sensor with a Room Controller. It assumes that the back-end configuration of the standalone Room Controller acting as a coordinator, or the Multi-Purpose Manager (MPM) coordinator for the ZigBee network, is complete. It also assumes the user is familiar with the Permit Join function and the Wireless Ecosystem screen functions.
Procedure
- Set Permit Join on the Room Controller (or networked MPM coordinator if used) to On.
- Navigate to the first unused Zone screen in the Wireless Ecosystem section of the Room Controller's interface.
- Insert the battery or remove the pull tab (for contact sensors) to activate the ZigBee sensor.
- Verify the sensor has joined the network and the 'Paired' field status reads 'Yes' on the Zone screen.
- Set the 'Set function' to the desired parameter.
- Set Permit Join on the Room Controller (or networked MPM coordinator if used) to Off.
- For door or window contact sensors, perform step 7. Otherwise, proceed to step 8.
- Navigate to the first screen in the Configuration section of the interface.
- For a window sensor, set UI 16 to 'Window'.
- For a door sensor, set UI 17 to 'Door Dry'.
- Physically install the sensor.
Troubleshooting
If the short procedure described here is insufficient, or if an MPM or Room Controller needs to be configured, refer to the VT8000 Room Controllers ZigBee Pro Wireless Integration Guide available at www.viconics.com.
