Product Function Instructions
1. Continuity Testing
Connect one cable end to the transmitter's "QC/TEST" port and the other end to the receiver's "RJ45" port. Select "CONT" in the main menu and press OK. The screen will display cable types, followed by the test result. A triangle arrow indicates the connection position. Pressing OK again re-runs the test, and pressing the [return]
button returns to the main menu.
Test Results:
- Shorted: Indicates a short circuit.
- Broken: Indicates an open circuit.
- Cross: Indicates wires are crossed.
- Good Condition: Indicates a properly connected cable.
Diagram Description: Visual representations of continuity test results are shown, illustrating 'Shorted', 'Broken', 'Cross', and 'Good Condition' states, typically showing wire mapping or status indicators.
2. SCAN
Connect the cable to be tested to the transmitter's "SCAN" port. In the main menu, select "SCAN" and choose between Digital or Analog mode using the [up arrow]
or [down arrow]
buttons. Press OK to confirm. Set the receiver to the corresponding mode. The receiver can then be used to trace the cable at the far end; the loudest tone indicates the correct cable.
A triangle arrow indicates the current function, and another triangle arrow points to the required cable insertion position. Pressing OK or the [return]
button exits to the main menu.
Modes: Digital mode / Analog mode (up to 300m).
Note: Transmitter and receiver modes must match for accurate results.
Diagram Description: The UI screens for 'Digital Mode' and 'Analog Mode' scanning are shown, indicating the selected mode.
3. Port Flash
Connect one cable end to the transmitter's "Length/Flash/PoE" port. Select "Flash" in the main menu and press OK. The screen will display "Link test". A triangle arrow indicates the connection position.
Successful Test: Displays a green circle, switch specifications (FDX/HDX), and protocol (Auto-Nego/Non-Auto-Nego). The port on the router/switch and the device's circle indicator will flash. If another port flashes at a similar frequency (approx. 3 secs), it may be the target port.
Failed Test: Displays "Test Timeout", possibly due to improper cable connection.
The "Length/Flash/PoE" port lights and the screen circle flash synchronously.
Application: Used for locating network ports on Hub/Switch by observing the flashing port light (supports 10M/100M/1000M Hub/switch).
Diagram Description: UI screens show 'Link Test' status, including 'Normal status' with a green circle and device details, and 'Test Timeout' indicating failure. Indicator lights are also described.
4. Length
Connect one end of the cable to the transmitter's "Length/Flash/PoE" port. Disconnect the other end of the cable. Select "Length" in the main menu, choose the cable type (e.g., CAT5, CAT6) and unit (meter/yard/feet) before testing.
Press "Start Testing" and OK to measure. The result will appear on the screen. A triangle arrow indicates the connection position. If the cable is short or broken, the data will be displayed in red.
Requirements:
- The LAN cable must be de-energized.
- Disconnect the cable at the far end; no other devices connected.
- Test range: 2.5m to 200m. Outside this range, it may display 0 meter.
Diagram Description: Examples of available cable types (CAT5, CAT6) and units (Meter, Yard, Feet) are shown. Test results display different scenarios: 'Testing...', 'Cable is normal' (showing length and wire status), and 'Short line' (indicating a specific wire is shorted).
5. PoE Test
This function tests standard PoE devices, providing information on voltage, power supply polarity, and power supply mode (IEEE 802.3af/at). For non-standard PoE devices, it tests voltage, polarity, and mode, but labels the type as "Non standard".
Connect the cable to the "Length/Flash/PoE" port. The testing result displays voltage, polarity, and mode for each of the 8 pins.
Diagram Description: PoE test results are shown for different configurations: '4-Pairs', 'Endspan', and 'Midspan', detailing voltage (VDC) and IEEE standard for each pin.
Attention:
- If all 8 pins provide power, polarity is not displayed.
- If connected to a PoE device, results appear within seconds. A delay of over 30 seconds may indicate a non-PoE device.
6. QC Testing for Crystal Head
Connect one end of the cable to the "QC/TEST" port. Select "QC Test" in the main menu and press OK to start. A triangle arrow indicates the connection position. Pressing [return]
returns to the main menu.
Plug and unplug the cable; the result updates automatically. A ✔️
indicates a normal channel, while an ❌
indicates an abnormal channel.
Diagram Description: QC test results are shown for 'Error' (indicating abnormal channels with 'X') and 'Correct' (indicating normal channels with '✓').
7. Optical Power Meter (OPM)
The OPM tests optical power and light attenuation. Insert one end of a fiber cable into the OPM port. Select "OPM" in the main menu and press OK.
A triangle arrow indicates the connection position. Data updates in real-time. Press [return]
to exit.
The [selection indicator]
shows the current selection. Options include switching units (dBm, dB, mw, uw, nw) and wavelengths (850nm, 1300nm, 1310nm, 1490nm, 1550nm, 1625nm).
REF Switch: Used for attenuation measurement. Press [up arrow]
or [down arrow]
to select REF. When the [selection indicator]
is on REF, long-press OK to save the current optical power as a reference value (displayed in a second blue area). Subsequent measurements can be compared to this reference to determine attenuation.
Diagram Description: Multiple UI screens demonstrate OPM settings, including unit switching (dBm, nw), wavelength switching (850nm, 1490nm, 1625nm), OP Calibration, and User value settings. The REF function screen shows how to save reference values and displays real-time attenuation data.
8. VFL (Visual Fault Locator)
Insert one end of the fiber cable into the VFL port. Select "VFL" in the main menu and press OK to start the test.
A triangle arrow indicates the connection position. Press [return]
to exit.
Press OK to switch between three modes: Fast flash 2Hz, Fast flash 1Hz, and Light.
Diagram Description: The VFL function is illustrated with three output modes: 'Fast flash 2Hz', 'Fast flash 1Hz', and 'Light', showing the visual output.
9. Setting
Select "Set" in the main menu and press OK to enter the settings. Use the [up arrow]
and [down arrow]
buttons to navigate options and press OK to change the current option's mode.
Available Settings:
- Language: English, Chinese.
- Backlight: Level 1, Level 2, Level 3.
- Backlight Time: MAX, 15s, 30s, 1min, 15min, 30min, 1 Hour, 2 Hours, OFF.
