SONOFF S-MATE2 User Manual

SONOFF S-MATE2 eWeLink-Remote Switch Mate User Manual

Introduction

S-MATE2 is a battery-powered switch that can be used to connect ordinary rocker or pulse switches without the need for a neutral line. It can be used as an eWeLink-Remote sub-device and added to the eWeLink-Remote gateway for local control. In addition, it can achieve smart device linkage by setting up smart scenes.

Device Overview

The S-MATE2 has the following components:

  • 1. DIP Switch: Used to configure the device mode (Rocker or Momentary).
  • 2. LED Indicator: Provides status feedback.
    • Flash once quickly: External switch status changes.
    • Flash 3 times quickly: External switch type is successfully switched.
    • Flash 3 times quickly: External switch status changes and the device is in a low battery state.
  • 3. Wiring ports: Terminals for connecting wires.

DIP Switch Configuration:

The factory default mode is Rocker switch mode. If connecting to a momentary switch, turn the DIP switch to the left. The LED indicator will flash 3 times quickly after the switch mode is successfully switched.

Diagram Description: Diagram showing two modes for the DIP switch. Figure 1 illustrates the Rocker switch mode. Figure 2 illustrates the Momentary switch mode, with the DIP switch positioned to the left.

Step 2: Power Off

Ensure the power supply to the connected switch circuit is turned off before proceeding.

Diagram Description: Illustration depicts a hand turning off a standard wall light switch, indicating the need to cut power to the circuit.

Step 3: Wiring Instruction

*Please install and maintain the device by a professional electrician. To avoid electric shock hazard, do not operate any connection or contact the terminal connector while the device is powered on!

Diagram Description: Wiring diagram comparison. 'Before' shows a standard wall switch connected directly to two wires. 'After' shows the S-MATE2 connected in series with the wall switch and a SONOFF MINIR4 (acting as an eWeLink-Remote gateway). The wall switch connects to the input terminals of S-MATE2, and S-MATE2's output connects to the input of MINIR4. The diagram indicates that S-MATE2 needs to work with an eWeLink-Remote gateway like MINIR4.

Adding the Device to eWeLink-Remote Gateway

Follow these steps to pair the S-MATE2 with your eWeLink-Remote gateway (e.g., SONOFF MINIR4):

  1. On the homepage of the supporting gateway in the eWeLink app, tap the "..." icon.
  2. Navigate to Device Settings and select "eWeLink-Remote sub-devices".
  3. Tap the "Add" button. The eWeLink-Remote gateway will enter its learning mode.
  4. Within 10 seconds, press the sub-device button on the S-MATE2.
  5. The device will be added.

Diagram Description: A series of app interface screenshots illustrating the pairing process. Step 1 shows tapping '...' on the gateway's main screen. Step 2 shows selecting 'eWeLink-Remote sub-devices' from Device Settings. Step 3 shows tapping an 'Add' button. Step 4 shows a timer counting down from 8 seconds, indicating the 10-second window. Step 5 shows a hand pressing the button on the S-MATE2 device.

Smart Scenes

The S-MATE2 can be used as a triggering device in smart scenes within the eWeLink app, but not as an executing device.

To create a smart scene:

  1. On the eWeLink app's scene page, tap "+" to add a new scene.
  2. Select "Add" triggers.
  3. Choose "Smart Device" as the trigger type.
  4. Select "S-MATE2" from your device list and configure the conditions (e.g., when the switch is pressed).
  5. Add the linked device (the device that will perform an action).
  6. Complete the scene setup by defining the action (e.g., turn on a light).

Diagram Description: Screenshots of the eWeLink app for creating smart scenes. Step 1 shows tapping '+' on the scene page. Step 2 shows selecting 'Add' triggers. Step 3 shows selecting 'Smart Device'. Step 4 shows selecting 'S-MATE2' and setting up trigger conditions. Step 5 shows adding a linked device for the 'Then' part of the scene. Step 6 shows the completed scene setup with 'If S-MATE2 is triggered' and 'Then Switch ON' actions.

Compatible eWeLink-Remote Gateways
