Operating Instructions

Product Description

The S-MATE2 is a battery-powered switch that can be used to connect common rocker or pulse switches without the need for a neutral wire. It can function as an eWeLink-Remote slave and be added to an eWeLink-Remote gateway for local control. Additionally, it can connect to smart devices by configuring intelligent scenes.

Device Overview

The Sonoff S-MATE2 features:

  • 1. DIP Switch: Used to select operating mode.
  • 2. LED Indicator: Displays device status.
  • 3. Wiring Terminals: For connecting switches and power.

LED Indicator Status:

  • Single quick flash: The external switch state has changed.
  • Three quick flashes: The external switch has been activated successfully.
  • Three quick flashes: The external switch and device battery are depleted.

DIP Switch

The default mode for this unit is the rocker switch operation (Figure 1). If the unit is connected to a momentary switch, turn the DIP switch to the left (Figure 2). The indicator will flash quickly 3 times when the switch mode change is successful.

Installation

  1. Step 1: Battery Preparation

    Remove the insulation sheet from the battery.

  2. Step 2: Power Disconnection

    Turn off the power supply before proceeding.

    * Safety Warning: The unit must be installed and maintained by a professional electrician. To avoid electric shock, do not use connections and do not touch the terminal socket when the unit is powered on!

Wiring Instructions

* The S-MATE2 must operate with an eWeLink-Remote gateway. (In this example, the MINIR4 acts as the eWeLink-Remote gateway).

Adding Device (Pairing)

Follow these steps to pair the S-MATE2 with your eWeLink-Remote gateway:

  1. Step 1: Access Gateway Settings

    Click the '...' on the homepage of the supported gateway.

  2. Step 2: Navigate to Sub-devices

    Click 'eWeLink-Remote sub-devices' in the Device Settings section.

  3. Step 3: Initiate Pairing

    Click the 'Add' button, and the eWeLink-Remote gateway enters pairing mode.

  4. Step 4: Activate Slave Device

    Click the slave device button (on the S-MATE2) within 10 seconds.

  5. Step 5: Confirm Addition

    Click the button on the slave device to add it.

Smart Scenes

The eWeLink-Remote slave can only be used as a trigger device, not as an execution device.

  1. Step 1: Add New Scene

    Select 'S-MATE2' and follow the configuration instructions.

  5. Step 5: Connect Device to Scene

    Add the connected device to the scene.

  6. Step 6: Complete Configuration

    Complete the scene configuration.
