This document provides comprehensive instructions for the Ecler VEO-MXH44, a 4x4 HDMI 2.0 Matrix with Audio De-embedders.
1. Important Remark
Caution: Risk of electric shock. Do not open.
The lightning flash with arrowhead symbol (⚡), within an equilateral triangle, alerts users to the presence of uninsulated dangerous voltage within the product's enclosure that may pose a risk of electric shock.
The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle (⚠️) alerts users to important operating and maintenance instructions in the accompanying literature.
Warning: Terminals marked with a lightning symbol (⚡) may carry a risk of electric shock. External wiring requires installation by an instructed person or the use of ready-made leads.
Warning: To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not expose this equipment to rain or moisture.
Warning: Apparatus with Class I construction must be connected to a mains socket-outlet with a protective earthing connection.
2. Important Safety Instructions

- Refer all servicing to qualified personnel. Servicing is required if the apparatus is damaged, exposed to liquid, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
- Disconnecting from mains: Switching off the power switch stops functions, but fully disconnecting requires unplugging the power cord. The device shall remain readily operable.
- Equipment is connected to a socket-outlet with earthing connection via a power cord.
- Marking information is located at the bottom of the apparatus.
- The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing, and no objects filled with liquids shall be placed on it.
Note: This equipment complies with FCC Rules for a Class A digital device, designed for commercial environments. It may cause harmful interference to radio communications if not installed and used correctly.
Warning: This product must not be discarded as unsorted urban waste. Take it to the nearest electrical and electronic waste treatment center.
3. Important Note
Thank you for choosing the Ecler VEO-MXH44 video matrix. It is very important to read and understand this manual before connecting the equipment to ensure optimal use and performance.
For optimal operation, maintenance should be carried out by authorized Technical Services.

4. Introduction
The Ecler VEO-MXH44 is a 4x4 HDMI Matrix supporting High Dynamic Range (HDR) formats. It is HDCP 2.2 and 1.4 compliant and supports 4K/UHD video at 60 Hz with 4:4:4 chroma sampling, and HDMI signals up to 18 Gbps. It is ideal for applications requiring 4K/UHD and HDR sources and displays.
The VEO-MXH44 features analogue audio de-embedding and EDID management. HDMI selection can be manual (front panel), or remote via serial commands, TCP/IP, and IR. An integrated web GUI provides user-friendly configuration and control.

6. Panel Descriptions
6.1. Front Panel
1. IR receiver: Infrared sensor for remote control.
2. Input selection LED indicator: Provides information about the current HDMI input selected.
3. Selection button: Allows changing the HDMI input selection for each HDMI output.
Note: To turn ON/OFF DHCP function, press and hold the select buttons for OUTPUT 1 and OUTPUT 2 for 3 seconds.
6.2. Rear Panel
1. Unbalanced Stereo Audio Output: When the audio option on EDID configuration is set to 2.0, this provides a de-embedded stereo analogue audio signal for the corresponding HDMI output.
2. HDMI 2.0 Input Ports: Connect HDMI sources here.
3. IR port for External IR receiver: A 3.5mm Minijack to connect the included external remote IR sensor.
4. HDMI 2.0 Output Ports: Connect HDMI displays here.
5. RS-232 Port: For serial remote control and/or firmware update.
6. Reserved Micro USB Port: Service port for firmware update purposes.
7. RJ45 for LAN connection and IP/Web remote control.
8. 5V DC Power Connector.
7. Connection and Installation
- Connect HDMI signal sources (e.g., PC, STB) to the VEO-MXH44 HDMI Input ports.
- Connect the VEO-MXH44 HDMI Output ports to the displays.
- Connect Audio and Control devices if required.
- Power up the VEO-MXH44, displays, and sources.
- To control the VEO-MXH44 with the included IR Remote, connect the IR Receiver to the corresponding port.
8. IR Remote Control
1. Stand-by Mode: Powers the device on or off.
2. Output/Input selection buttons: To route INPUT-Y to OUTPUT-X, press OUTPUT-X (where X is output 1 to 4) and then press INPUT-Y (where Y is input 1 to 4).
3. All Outputs selection button: To route INPUT-Y to all outputs, press ALL and then press INPUT-Y (where Y is input 1 to 4).
4. Cancel button: Cancels an ongoing routing operation.
5. PTP Button: Mirrors inputs to outputs (e.g., Input 1 to Output 1, Input 2 to Output 2).
9. Web Control
9.1. Connecting your PC to VEO-MXH44
The VEO-MXH44 defaults to a static IP address of 192.168.1.168.
Change the IP address of your PC:
- Click Start → Control Panel → Network and Sharing Center.
- Click Change Adapter Settings.
- Highlight the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) option and double-click to change settings. Ensure your PC's IP address is on the same network as the matrix (e.g., 192.168.1.x).
- Click OK to confirm.
Once your PC is on the same network as the VEO-MXH44, open your Internet browser and navigate to 192.168.1.168 to access the control webpage.
9.2. Port Set Page
This page allows for matrix switching control, mapping inputs to outputs.
9.3. EDID Config Page
This page allows setting EDID options for both Video and Audio formats.
Note: Analogue audio outputs are active only when 2CH is selected. When other formats are selected, multi-channel audio passes through HDMI, and the analogue output will be muted.
9.4. IP Config Page
This page displays network configuration details such as MAC Address, Host IP Address, Net Mask, Router IP Address, and Device Name. It also allows enabling DHCP.
10. RS-232 and TCP/IP Control for Third Party
The VEO-MXH44 can be controlled by third-party systems via serial commands through the RS-232 Euroblock port or via LAN using a TCP/IP connection.
Default Serial Settings:
- Baudrate: 115200 bps
- Data Width: 8bit
- Parity: None
- Stop: 1 bit
Default Network Settings:
- Default IP: 192.168.1.168
- TCP/IP port: 5000
Note: The end-of-line command is '#'. CR or LF characters are not required.

EDID Commands
EDID Setting: @W XX AA BB#
- XX identifies the input: 05 (Input 1), 06 (Input 2), 07 (Input 3), 08 (Input 4)
- AA identifies the resolution: 00 (1080P), 01 (4K@30Hz 4:4:4), 02 (4K@60Hz 4:2:0), 03 (4K@60Hz 4:4:4)
- BB identifies the following functions:
- HDR: Bit 7
- 48bit: Bit 6
- 36 bit: Bit 5
- 30 bit: Bit 4
- 7.1 CH: Bit 3
- 5.1 CH: Bit 2
- 2.0 CH: Bit 1
- 3D: Bit 0
Example: Binary 11001001
= HDR, 48Bit, 7.1CH, 3D. This converts to hexadecimal C9

Example Command: @W05 03 C9#
sets the EDID for Input 1 to 4K@60Hz 4:4:4, HDR, 48Bit, 7.1CH, 3D.
11. Control Center Utility
12.1. Software Connection
The VEO-MXH44 Control Center utility allows connecting and controlling the matrix via RS-232 or TCP/IP connection.
12.2. RS-232 Connection
After pressing the Search button in COM Setting, the software automatically detects available COM ports. You can also select a port manually. Once the correct COM port is selected and Connect is pressed, the software reads the settings and allows matrix control.
12.3. Network Connection
Select the Net Config tab. The Current PC Information displays the PC's IP address and allows setting the TCP/IP port for software communication (default is 5001). Press Connect and Search Device.
12.4. Port Set Page
This page in the Control Center software provides matrix switching control, similar to the web interface.
12.5. EDID Config Page
This page in the Control Center software allows setting EDID options for Video and Audio formats.
Note: Analogue audio outputs are active only when 2CH is selected. Other formats mute the analogue output.
12.6. IP Config Page
This page allows modifying network settings or activating the DHCP function.
12.7. System Config Page
This page provides access to functions like Reboot, Factory Default, and Power ON/OFF. A command line interface is also available for testing commands.
12. Firmware Upgrade
12.1. Instructions
Connect a PC to the same network as the VEO-MXH44 and open the configuration webpage by entering the device's IP address (default: 192.168.1.168) in a web browser.
Select the Firmware Upgrade button. After download, choose the firmware file with the .slg
extension.
Press START UPGRADE and wait for the process to finish. The device will automatically reboot with the new firmware version.
