A. Package Content
This section lists the components included in the Ortur LU2-4-SF laser module package.
- Ortur LU2-4-SF Laser Module
- Focal Gauge Board
- Thumb screw
B. Install the Laser Module
Follow these steps to correctly install the Ortur LU2-4-SF laser module onto your laser engraver.
Step 1: Visual depiction of the Ortur LU2-4-SF laser module being mounted onto the X-axis carriage of a laser engraver frame. The module is shown positioned above the main structure.
Step 2: A detailed view illustrates the mechanical and electrical connection points for the laser module to the engraver's carriage, highlighting mounting screws and wiring harnesses.
C. How to Use the Focal Gauge
This guide explains the procedure for using the focal gauge to achieve precise laser focus for engraving and cutting.
Step 1: The focal gauge tool is presented vertically. It is a red, cylindrical component with distinct vertical grooves.
Step 2: The focal gauge tool is positioned between the laser module's lens and the material surface. A visible gap exists between the bottom of the laser module and the top of the focal gauge, indicating the initial distance setting.
Step 3: The focal gauge tool is removed. The diagram shows the laser module now closer to the material surface, signifying that the correct focal distance has been achieved. It is crucial to remove the focal gauge board after completing the focusing process.
Instruction: Before engraving or cutting objects, determine the laser module's focus and adjust it according to steps 1 and 2. After focusing, ensure the focal gauge board is removed, as illustrated in step 3.
D. Maintain your Laser Module
Essential maintenance tips to ensure the longevity and performance of your Ortur laser module.
Maintenance Recommendation: If the laser module is not used for an extended period or has been operated for more than 30 hours, it is recommended to clean the lens using medical alcohol and a cotton swab. Dirty lenses can significantly reduce the laser's effective power.
Instruction: Periodically clean the laser module lens to maintain optimal laser power output.
