CRKD NEO S User Guide
This guide provides comprehensive instructions for the CRKD NEO S controller, covering setup, features, and specifications.
Important Safety Information

NEO S Layout
The CRKD NEO S controller features a detailed layout for optimal gaming control.
Front View
The front of the controller includes:
- Directional Pad
- Left Analog Stick (also functions as L3 Button)
- Action Buttons: Y, X, B, A
- Home (CRKD) Button
- Menu Button

- Capture Button (for Nintendo Switch™ only)

Top View
The top of the controller features:
- Left Trigger (LT)

The back of the controller includes:
- RFID Touchpoint
- Programmable Button S1 (Programmed to Overdrive when grip is attached)

- Programmable Button S2 (Programmed to Overdrive when grip is attached)
- Reset Button

The bottom of the controller features:

Setup
Connection Status
The NEO S Home (CRKD) Button indicates connection status via its LED:

Note: When the HOME (CRKD) button is SLOW blinking, the NEO S is in search mode and cannot enter pairing mode. Power OFF the NEO S before attempting to enter pairing mode by pressing and holding the HOME (CRKD) button for 10 seconds.
Connect to PC
Option 1: Bluetooth® (Xinput Device)
- Enable Bluetooth® on your computer or connect a Bluetooth® adapter.
- Press and hold the Dpad Up + Home (CRKD) Button for 3 seconds to enter Xinput Device pairing mode. The Home (CRKD) LED will blink fast in orange.
- On your PC, select "Add Bluetooth® device," then choose "Bluetooth®" from the dropdown. Look for "Xbox Wireless Controller" and select it. Windows will then set up the device.
Option 3: Wired USB
- Connect the controller directly to your PC using a USB cable.
Connect to Nintendo Switch™
Option 1: Bluetooth®
- On the Switch, navigate to Settings > Controllers and Sensors > Change Grip/Order.
- Press and hold the Home (CRKD) Button for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode. The Home (CRKD) LED will blink fast in white.
- The NEO S will automatically connect to the Switch. Upon successful connection, the controller will be highlighted as player 1/2/3/4 on the Switch, and the Status LED on the NEO S will display RED (1st player), BLUE (2nd player), Yellow (3rd player), or Green (4th player).
Option 2: Wired USB
- Dock the Switch console into its stand.
- Connect the controller to the Switch via the USB cable. The controller will automatically connect, and the Home (CRKD) LED will remain solid white.
- When disconnected from the Switch, the controller will automatically revert to a Bluetooth® connection.
Connect to Android
Option 1: Bluetooth®
- Enable Bluetooth® on your Android device.
- Press and hold the Dpad Down + Home (CRKD) Button for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode. The Home (CRKD) LED will blink CYAN.
- On your Android device, select "Gamepad" from the available device list and press PAIR. The NEO S will pair with your Android device.
Connecting to Multiple Devices
The NEO S can connect to multiple devices. Follow the setup sections for initial connection. To power off the NEO S, press and hold the HOME (CRKD) button for 10 seconds. Connect to another device using a different method. Note that the NEO S cannot connect to multiple devices using the same connection method.
Switching Between Devices
Seamlessly switch between paired devices using specific button combinations. Ensure the NEO S is powered OFF before switching.
- Switch (Pro Controller): Press Dpad Right + Home (CRKD) Button.
- Xinput (PC): Press Dpad Up + Home (CRKD) Button.
- Android: Press Dpad Down + Home (CRKD) Button.
Note: The device the NEO S switches to becomes the main device. Pressing the Home (CRKD) button will wake the NEO S and connect it to the main device from an OFF state.
Setting Up the Attachment
The attachment offers three modes:
- Default Mode (Easy, Medium, Hard): The attachment LED is purple by default.
- Mode 2 (Expert): Press and hold all five fret buttons for 5 seconds. The attachment LED will turn red.
- Mode 3 (Pro): From Mode 2, press and hold all five fret buttons for 5 seconds. The attachment LED will turn blue.
To cycle through modes, press and hold all five fret buttons for 5 seconds, and every additional 2 seconds held, the mode will change.
Note: "Thumb" preset and Pro mode are default for gameplay. Customization is available in CRKD CTRL and game settings.
Attachment Layout Description: The attachment features five lanes (Lane 1 to Lane 5), with "Strum (Pro Only)" at the top and bottom, and "Overdrive" and "Whammy (Pro Only)" indicated.
Programming / Resetting / Clearing Back Buttons (S1-S2)
Back buttons can be programmed for single inputs or sequences, and can be reset or disabled.
Programming Back Buttons
- Step 1: Press and hold the Program (PROG) button on the back for 3 seconds until the Home (CRKD) button flashes purple. Release the PROG button.
- Step 2: While the Home (CRKD) button flashes purple, press the desired inputs to assign to the back buttons.
- Step 3: Press either S1 or S2 to map the chosen commands. The Home (CRKD) button LED will turn solid purple, then white, indicating successful remapping.
Note: By default, Back Buttons are mapped to Overdrive when the grip is attached. Back Buttons are not programmable when the grip is attached.
Resetting a Single Button
Hold the Program (PROG) button for 3 seconds until the CRKD LED flashes purple. Press the back button to reset it to its default programming.
Resetting All Buttons to Factory Settings
Hold the Program (PROG) button for 5 seconds. The CRKD LED will flash purple, then turn solid purple. Release the PROG button while the LED is solid purple. The LED will return to white, resetting all back buttons to factory settings.
Disabling Back Buttons
Hold the Program (PROG) button for 7 seconds. The CRKD LED will flash purple, turn solid purple, then white, and the NEO S will vibrate. This clears and disables all programming, making the back buttons inactive.
Configuring Turbo Setting
Turbo mode allows the NEO S to repeatedly input a button press at a chosen speed.
- Step 1: Press and hold LT and the View Button for 2 seconds. The CRKD LED will flash green.
- Step 2: Use the Menu button to increase turbo rate and the View button to decrease it. After selecting the turbo speed, press the button you want to apply turbo to. The Home (CRKD) button will turn solid green, indicating turbo mode is active and the button is assigned.
When holding the assigned turbo button, the CRKD LED will flash at the chosen speed rate.
To leave turbo mode, press and hold LT and the View button for 4 seconds. The CRKD LED will flash green, then turn white, indicating a return to normal mode.
Configuring Rumble Setting
The NEO S has two rumble motors, adjustable to four settings per side.
- Step 1: To adjust the left rumble motor, press and hold LB and Menu for 3 seconds. To adjust the right rumble motor, press and hold RB and View button for 3 seconds. The Home (CRKD) LED will start flashing RED, allowing rumble intensity adjustment.
- Step 2: Use the Menu button to increase rumble intensity and the View button to decrease it.
Available Rumble Levels:
- Level 0 - OFF (Red LED flashes slowly)
- Level 1 (1 Rumble)
- Level 2 (2 Rumbles - Default)
- Level 3 (3 Rumbles)
After adjustment, the Home (CRKD) button LED will turn back to white after 5 seconds if no further adjustments are made.
Note: Each level offers a small, subtle incremental change.
Configuring Trigger Button Actuation Setting
The NEO S trigger buttons can be adjusted to three different travel settings.
- Step 1: Press and hold LT and the Menu Button for 3 seconds. The Home (CRKD) button LED will start flashing Cyan, allowing trigger actuation setting adjustment.
- Step 2: Use the Menu button to increase travel and the View button to decrease it.
Available Travel Settings:
- 25% Travel (Default)
- 50% Travel
- 75% Travel
After adjustment, the Home (CRKD) button LED will turn back to white after 5 seconds if no further adjustments are made.
Note: Turn on rumble for haptic feedback during adjustment.
No Dead Zone Mode
The NEO S can be adjusted to have no stick dead zone.
- To Decrease Dead Zone: Press and hold LT and Capture Button for 3 seconds. The Home (CRKD) button LED will change to BLUE and revert to WHITE after 6 seconds, indicating the dead zone has been decreased.
- To Restore Default: Press and hold ZL and Capture Button for 3 seconds. The Home (CRKD) button LED will blink BLUE and revert to WHITE after 6 seconds, indicating the stick dead zone is back to default.
Recommendation: Calibrate both sticks in the Switch system settings (Calibrate Control Sticks) after adjusting the stick dead zone, before starting gameplay.
Adjusting LED Brightness
The NEO S Home (CRKD) button features an LED to indicate play mode and settings. LED brightness can be adjusted or turned OFF using the Program button on the back of the NEO S. Each press of the Program button decreases brightness, with the final setting turning the LED OFF.
Note: Adjusting some NEO S settings will turn the LED ON.
Tap and Collect
The NEO S features an RFID touchpoint. Use the CRKD app and an NFC-enabled smartphone to add the NEO S to your collection. The CRKD app provides instructions and videos on how to tap your device.
Download the CRKD app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
Connecting to CRKD CTRL
Reprogram the NEO S or update its firmware using the CRKD CTRL feature within the CRKD app. Tap "CTRL" in the app, and when prompted, press and hold Dpad + Home (CRKD) Button for 3 seconds. The Home (CRKD) Button LED will blink fast blue, and upon connection, will continue to blink slow blue while in CRKD CTRL.
Note: When NEO S exits CRKD CTRL, it will enter search mode and power off if not connected to any other device.
Play & Charge
The NEO S supports playing games while charging. Use the USB-C connector port for charging. The Status LED will blink slowly when the NEO S is charging.
Note: The Status LED will blink fast red when the battery is low.
Stick Topper Replacement
- Step 1: Remove each Topper by gently rotating and pulling upwards.
- Step 2: Replace a Topper by placing it onto the stick and pressing down firmly.

Limited Warranty
CRKD warrants the product to the original consumer purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship for 2 Years from the date of purchase. Details are available at www.crkd.gg/warranty.
Australian Warranty
Goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Consumers are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for other foreseeable loss or damage. Goods are also entitled to be repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. For products purchased in Australia or New Zealand, a one-year (12 months) warranty from the date of purchase applies. Defects must appear within one year from purchase to claim warranty. All warranty claims must be facilitated through the retailer of purchase according to their returns policy. Use and Handling
- Ensure adequate space around you before use.
- Grip the controller firmly to prevent slippage.
- If using a cabled connection, ensure the cable does not obstruct movement or get pulled from the console.
Exterior Protection
To prevent deterioration or discoloration:
- Avoid placing rubber or vinyl materials on the product exterior for extended periods.
- Clean the product with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use solvents or other chemicals.
Safety Precautions
- Do not handle damaged or leaking lithium-ion batteries.
- If battery material contacts eyes, do not rub; flush immediately with clean water and seek medical attention.
- If battery material contacts skin or clothes, rinse the affected area with clean water and consult a physician if irritation develops.
- Take breaks approximately every 30 minutes during prolonged use.
- Discontinue use immediately if you experience discomfort or pain in your hands or arms. Consult a doctor if the condition persists.
- This product is intended for use with hands only. Do not bring it into close contact with your head, face, or body bones.
- The vibration function can aggravate injuries. Do not use it if you have any ailment or injury to bones, joints, or muscles in your hands or arms.
- Never disassemble or modify the product.
- Avoid exposure to high temperatures, high humidity, or direct sunlight.
- Keep the product away from liquids.
- Do not place heavy objects on the product.
