CRKD NEO S Controller User Guide

Introduction

This guide provides instructions for the CRKD NEO S controller (Model CK24NS).

Setup and Connection

Connection Status

The Home (CRKD) Button LED indicates the connection status:

Note: When the Home (CRKD) button is SLOW blinking, the NEO S is in search mode. The NEO S cannot enter pairing mode while in search mode. Power OFF the NEO S by pressing and holding the Home (CRKD) button for 10 seconds before attempting to enter pairing mode.

Connecting to iOS / macOS

  1. Option 1: Bluetooth® (Xinput Device) - Recommended
    1. Turn on Bluetooth® on your iOS / macOS device.
    2. Press and hold the D-pad [arrow-up] + Home (CRKD) Button for 3 seconds to enter Xinput Device pairing mode. The Home (CRKD) LED will blink fast in orange.
    3. On your device, select "Xbox Wireless Controller" from the available Bluetooth® list. The NEO S will connect.
  2. Option 2: Bluetooth® (Pro Controller)
    1. Turn on Bluetooth® on your iOS / macOS device.
    2. Press and hold the Home (CRKD) Button for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode. The Home (CRKD) LED will blink fast in white.
    3. On your device, select "Pro Controller" from the available Bluetooth® list. The NEO S will connect.
  3. Option 3: Wired USB (macOS)
    1. Connect the controller to your macOS device via USB connection.

Connecting to PC

  1. Option 1: Bluetooth® (Xinput Device) - Recommended
    1. Turn on the Bluetooth® function on your computer (or use a Bluetooth® adapter).
    2. Press and hold the D-pad [arrow-up] + Home (CRKD) Button for 3 seconds to enter Xinput Device pairing mode. The Home (CRKD) LED will blink fast in orange.
    3. Select "Add Bluetooth® device." From the available drop-down, select "Bluetooth®." You should see "Xbox Wireless Controller" listed. Select it and wait for Windows to set up the device.
  2. Option 2: Bluetooth® (Pro Controller)
    1. Turn on the Bluetooth® function on your computer (or use a Bluetooth® adapter).
    2. Press and hold the Home (CRKD) Button for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode. The Home (CRKD) LED will blink fast in white.
    3. Select "Add Device." From the available drop-down, select "Bluetooth®." Select "Pro Controller" from the list and wait for Windows to set up the device.
  3. Option 3: Wired USB
    1. Connect the controller via USB connection.

Connecting to Nintendo Switch™

  1. Option 1: Bluetooth® (Pro Controller)
    1. On your Switch, go to Settings > Controllers and Sensors > Change Grip/Order.
    2. Press and hold the Home (CRKD) Button for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode. The Home (CRKD) LED will blink fast in white. The NEO S will automatically connect to the Switch.
    3. Upon successful connection, the controller will be highlighted as player 1/2/3/4 on the Switch. The Status LED on the NEO S will show RED (1st player), BLUE (2nd player), Yellow (3rd player), or Green (4th player). Additional colors: Purple (5th player), Cyan (6th player), Orange (7th player).
  2. Option 2: Wired USB
    1. Dock your Switch console. Connect the controller via the USB cable. The controller will automatically connect, and the Home (CRKD) LED will remain solid white.
    2. After disconnecting from the Switch, the controller will automatically revert to using a Bluetooth® connection.

Connecting to Android

  1. Option 1: Bluetooth®
    1. Turn on the Bluetooth® function on your Android device.
    2. Press and hold the D-pad [arrow-down] + Home (CRKD) Button for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode. The Home (CRKD) LED will blink CYAN.
    3. On your Android device, select "Gamepad" from the available device list and press PAIR. The NEO S will pair with your device.

Connecting to Multiple Devices & Switching

The NEO S can connect to multiple devices. To connect to an initial device, refer to the SETUP sections. To connect to a new device, first power off the NEO S by pressing and holding the HOME (CRKD) button for 10 seconds, then connect using a different method.

Note: The NEO S cannot connect to multiple devices using the same connection method.

Switching Between Devices

Once paired with multiple devices, you can switch between them seamlessly using button combinations. Ensure the NEO S is powered OFF before switching.

Note: The device you switch to becomes the main device. Pressing the Home (CRKD) button will wake the NEO S to the main device from an OFF state.

Programming, Resetting, and Clearing Back Buttons (S1-S2)

The back buttons (S1, S2) can be programmed for single inputs, sequences, reset to default, or disabled.

Programming Back Buttons

  1. Press and hold the Program (PROG) button on the back of the NEO S for 3 seconds. The Home (CRKD) button will start flashing purple. Release the Program (PROG) button.
  2. While the Home (CRKD) button is flashing purple, press the desired inputs you want to assign to the back buttons.
  3. When finished, press either S1 or S2 to map the commands. The Home (CRKD) button LED will turn solid purple, then back to white, indicating successful remapping.

By default, the Back Buttons are mapped as follows: S1 - (A), S2 - (B).

Resetting a Single Button

Hold the Program (PROG) button for 3 seconds until the CRKD LED flashes purple. Press the back button you wish to reset. This restores the button to its default programming.

Resetting All Buttons to Factory Settings

Hold the Program (PROG) button for 5 seconds. The CRKD LED will flash purple, then turn solid purple. Release the Program (PROG) button while the LED is solid purple; it will then return to white. This resets all back buttons to their factory settings.

Disabling Back Buttons

Hold the Program (PROG) button for 7 seconds. The CRKD LED will flash purple, turn solid purple, then white, and the NEO S will vibrate. This clears and disables all programming, making the back buttons inactive.

Configuring Turbo Setting

Turbo mode allows the NEO S to repeatedly input a button press at a chosen speed.

Step 1

Press and hold the Left Trigger (LT) and View Button for 2 seconds. The CRKD LED will flash green.

Step 2

Choose your turbo speed: Press the Menu button to increase the turbo rate and the View button to decrease it. After selecting the speed, press the button you want to apply turbo to.

The Home (CRKD) button will turn solid green, indicating turbo mode is active and the button is assigned. When holding the assigned turbo button, the CRKD LED will flash at the chosen speed.

To leave turbo mode, press and hold the Left Trigger (LT) and View button for 4 seconds. The CRKD LED will flash green, then turn white, indicating a return to normal mode.

Configuring Rumble Setting

The NEO S features two rumble motors, adjustable individually to four settings.

Step 1

To adjust the left rumble motor: Press and hold the Left Bumper (LB) and Menu Button for 3 seconds. To adjust the right rumble motor: Press and hold the Right Bumper (RB) and View Button for 3 seconds. When the Home (CRKD) LED starts flashing RED, you can adjust rumble intensity.

Step 2

Select the desired rumble setting: Press the Menu button to increase rumble intensity and the View button to decrease it.

Note: After setting rumble, the Home (CRKD) button LED will return to white after 5 seconds if no further adjustments are made. Each level offers a small, subtle change.

Configuring Trigger Button Actuation Setting

The NEO S trigger buttons can be adjusted to three different travel settings.

Step 1

Press and hold the Left Trigger (LT) and Menu Button for 3 seconds. The Home (CRKD) button LED will start flashing Cyan, allowing you to adjust trigger actuation settings.

Step 2

Use the Menu button to increase travel and the View button to decrease it.

Note: Turn on rumble for haptic feedback during adjustment. After setting trigger actuation, the Home (CRKD) button LED will return to white after 5 seconds if no further adjustments are made.

No Dead Zone Mode & LED Brightness

No Dead Zone Mode

The NEO S can be adjusted to have no stick dead zone.

Recommendation: Calibrate both sticks in the Switch system settings (Calibrate Control Sticks) after adjusting the stick dead zone, before starting gameplay.

Adjusting LED Brightness

The NEO S Home (CRKD) button features an LED that indicates play mode and other settings. LED brightness can be adjusted or turned OFF using the Program button on the back of the NEO S. Each press of the Program button decreases brightness; the last setting turns the LED OFF.

Note: Adjusting some NEO S settings may turn the LED ON.

Tap and Collect & CRKD CTRL

Tap and Collect

The NEO S has an RFID touchpoint. Use the CRKD app and an NFC-enabled smartphone to add the NEO S to your collection. The CRKD app provides instructions and videos. Scan the [QR Code] to download the CRKD app.

Connecting to CRKD CTRL

Reprogram the NEO S or update its firmware using the CRKD CTRL feature in the CRKD app. In the app, tap CTRL. When prompted, press and hold the D-pad [arrow-up] + Home (CRKD) Button for 3 seconds. The Home (CRKD) Button LED will blink fast in blue, and upon connection, it will continue to blink slowly in blue while in CRKD CTRL.

Note: When NEO S exits CRKD CTRL, it enters search mode and will power off if not connected to any other device.

Play & Charge and Stick Topper Replacement

Play & Charge

The NEO S supports playing games while charging. Use the USB-C port to charge the controller. The Status LED blinks slowly when charging. The Status LED blinks fast in red when the battery is low.

Stick Topper Replacement

  1. Step 1: Remove a Topper by gently rotating and pulling upwards.
  2. Step 2: Replace a Topper by placing it onto the stick and pressing down firmly.

This product comes with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for other foreseeable loss or damage. If purchased in Australia or New Zealand, this product includes a one-year (12 months) warranty from the date of purchase. Defects must appear within this period. All warranty claims must be processed through the retailer of purchase according to their returns policy. The customer is responsible for any expenses incurred in returning the product to the retailer.
