RunCam Robin User Manual

Introduction

This document provides the user manual and technical specifications for the RunCam Robin FPV camera.

System Switching: NTSC & PAL

The RunCam Robin supports both NTSC and PAL video systems. The default system is NTSC.

To switch to the PAL system:

1. Short-circuit the two camera control pins.
2. Power on the camera. The camera will restart in PAL system mode within approximately 2 seconds.
3. The selected system is saved after power off. Ensure the short-circuit cable is unplugged after switching.

Controls and Installation

The camera can be controlled via a joystick or an optional OSD Key-press Board.

Joystick Control

The joystick typically allows navigation through menus using directional inputs:

• UP
• DOWN
• LEFT
• RIGHT
• ENTER

Connections

The camera features the following connections:

• Power Input: DC 5-36V (primary) and 3.5-5.5V (alternative).
• Ground: GND terminals.
• Video Output: Video out terminal.

An optional RunCam TX200 video transmitter and an OSD Key-press Board are compatible accessories.

Dimensions and Mounting

The camera has a compact form factor:

• Housing Dimensions: Approximately 19mm (width) x 19mm (length) x 18mm (height).
• Lens Mount: M8 lens thread.
• Mounting Screws: Uses M2 screws for installation.

OSD Menu Navigation

The On-Screen Display (OSD) menu allows for detailed configuration of the camera's settings. Navigation is typically performed using the joystick or an external control board.

The main menu categories include:

• SETUP: Main configuration area.
• EXPO.: Exposure settings.
• WB: White Balance adjustments.
• D&N: Day/Night mode settings (options like OFF, L, M, H for sensitivity levels).
• FUNC.: General function settings.
• RESET: Option to reset settings to default.
• EXT: External control or input settings.
• WDR: Wide Dynamic Range settings.
• LENS: Lens specific configurations (e.g., FIX - IRIS).
• AGC: Auto Gain Control settings.
• MODE: Camera operational modes (e.g., AUTO).
• BRIGHTNESS, CONTRAST, SHARPNESS, COLOR GAIN, NR (Noise Reduction), MIRROR (image flip/mirror), LANGUAGE (e.g., ENGLISH).
• ENGINEER SETUP: Advanced settings including SYNC, BURST, PEDESTAL, WHITE, OSD COLOR, OSD BG (Background).
• FACTORY MODE: Option to restore factory default settings (YES/NO).
• SAVE & EXIT: To confirm changes and exit the menu.
