Attaching Drill Bit or Screwdriver Bit (Fig. A)

  • Turn the chuck 8 counter-clockwise to open it and insert a drill bit or screwdriver bit.
  • Select a suitable drill bit and insert it into the chuck.
  • For screwdriver bits, insert a bit holder into the chuck.
  • Turn the chuck clockwise to tighten.
  • If using a screwdriver bit, insert the bit into the bit holder 11.
  • To remove the bit, pull it out of the bit holder.
  • To remove the drill bit or bit holder, open the chuck again and pull out the bit/holder.

Removing / Attaching Chuck (Fig. B, C)

Removing Chuck:

To use the bit holder attachment, the chuck 8 must be removed.

  • Hold the chuck firmly at the front.
  • Pull/slide the chuck release 9 towards the chuck. The chuck is now unlocked and can be pulled off forwards.

Attaching Chuck:

  • To re-attach the chuck, pull the chuck release towards the chuck and slide the chuck on completely.
  • If the chuck does not click into place automatically, turn the chuck ring.

Using Bit Holder Attachment (Fig. D)

After removing the chuck 8 as described in 'Removing Chuck', you can use the bit holder attachment.

  • Insert a suitable bit onto the spindle with bit holder 11.
  • Slide the bit fully into the bit holder. The magnetic holder will secure the bit.
  • To remove the bit, pull it out of the bit holder.

5. Application

Connecting to the Mains

The product is designed for use with a nominal input voltage of 230 V ~ / 50 Hz and is insulated. Plug the mains plug into a properly installed socket that complies with the 'Technical Specifications'. If your workspace is not near a socket, you can use an extension cord. The cross-section of the extension cord must be at least 1.5 mm². If necessary, seek advice from a specialist retailer. Keep the extension cord as short as possible. Ensure no one can trip over the extension cord.

Switching On and Off (Fig. E)

  • Switching On: Briefly press the On/Off switch 6.
  • Switching Off: Release the On/Off switch.

The speed can be infinitely adjusted by varying the pressure on the On/Off switch speed control.

Continuous Operation:

  • Keep the On/Off switch 6 pressed.
  • Press the lock-on button 4.
  • Release the On/Off switch. The drill will now operate continuously at the highest speed in the selected gear.
  • Press the On/Off switch to end continuous operation.

Changing Gears (Fig. F)

NOTE! Only change gears when the spindle is stationary. Otherwise, damage to the drive may occur.

  • Gear selector in position 1: 1st gear 0 – 400 min⁻¹
  • Gear selector in position 2: 2nd gear 0 – 1600 min⁻¹

Changing Rotation Direction (Fig. G)

NOTE! Only change the direction of rotation when the drill is stationary. Changing direction safely prevents damage to the drive.

  • Select the direction of rotation by pressing the rotation direction switch 3.
  • Switch direction for forward (towards chuck): clockwise rotation.
  • Switch direction for backward (away from chuck): counter-clockwise rotation.

ℹ️ When the rotation direction switch 3 is set to the middle position, the tool is locked and cannot be used.

Driving Screws (Fig. H)

NOTE! Do not use gear 2 (Drilling) when screwing (risk of overload).

To screw close to a surface, the required torque can be pre-set on the torque setting ring 7.

  • Set the torque setting ring to the desired torque (1-22). Use the setting marker 10 for this.
  • The torque setting ring clicks audibly into place.

Drilling

  • To select the drilling function, turn the torque setting ring 7 until the drill symbol aligns with the setting marker 10.

Work Instructions

CAUTION! Always secure your workpiece in a vice or similar clamping device. Especially large workpieces should be secured against slipping or supported.

Tips for Drilling in Metal

Make a pilot hole with a center punch at the marked drilling points. Always clamp the workpiece. Place a piece of wood underneath thin metal to prevent deformation. Use an HSS twist drill bit. For large drill diameters, use a smaller drill bit first. The pilot hole should be at least as large as the core diameter of the larger drill bit.

Tips for Drilling in Wood

Make a pilot hole at marked drilling points with a center punch or nail. Avoid splintering when breaking through and place scrap wood underneath or drill from both sides. The maximum drill diameter is best achieved with a Forstner bit.

Tips for Screwing

Use screwdriver bits that are suitable in shape and size. In soft wood, screws can be driven without a pilot hole. In hard wood, drilling a pilot hole first is highly advantageous. For countersunk screws, drill a pilot hole. For wood screws with non-continuous threads, drill a hole approximately half the screw length.

Lubricants

6. Maintenance, Cleaning, Storage, and Transport

WARNING! Disconnect the mains plug from the socket before making any adjustments or performing maintenance.

Maintenance

The drill is maintenance-free. Use only original spare parts/accessories from the manufacturer or authorized professional workshops. Repairs may only be carried out by experts or authorized service points.

Brush Replacement

NOTE! Use only suitable carbon brushes. Contact the manufacturer if in doubt.

  • Unscrew the brush holder cover 2 with a screwdriver.
  • Remove the carbon brush.
  • Replace the carbon brush with a new one.
  • Screw the brush holder cover back on.

Mains Cable Replacement

If the mains cable of this tool is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its customer service, or a similarly qualified person.

Cleaning

WARNING! Ensure no moisture enters the interior of the drill.

  • Clean the drill regularly with a dry cloth. Never use sharp or abrasive cleaning agents or solvents. Allow all parts to dry completely.
  • Ensure the ventilation slots remain open and clean the housing regularly with a soft cloth.

Storage

  • Clean the drill before storage.
  • If the drill is not in use, store it in a safe, cool, dry, and well-ventilated place out of reach of children.
  • Store the drill and battery at an ambient temperature of 0 - 40 °C.

Transport

  • Protect the drill from shocks and vibrations during transport and use the original packaging.
  • Always carry the drill by the designated handle 5.

8. Noise and Vibration Information

Noise Emission Values

Measured according to EN 62841. Workplace noise may exceed 80 dB(A), in which case protective measures for the user are required (wear suitable hearing protection).

  • Sound pressure level: LpA 88.2 dB(A)
  • Sound power level: LwA 96.2 dB(A)
  • Uncertainty: KpA/KwA 5 dB

Vibration Information

  • Vibration value: ah,D 3.9 m/s²
  • Uncertainty: K 1.5 m/s²

The stated total vibration values and noise emission values have been measured during a standardized test procedure and can be used to compare one power tool with another. They can also be used for a preliminary assessment of the load.

WARNING! The vibrations and noise emissions during actual use may differ from the stated values, depending on how the power tool is used, particularly the type of workpiece being processed. Ensure safety measures are in place to protect the operator, based on an assessment of the vibration load during actual operating conditions.
