Safety Precautions and Tools
Before starting installation, ensure you have the necessary tools and understand the safety guidelines:
- Tools Required: Measuring tape, drill, jigsaw, gloves, pencil.
- Safe Handling: Always ensure the appliance is handled by two people to prevent injury. Check for any potential hazards like water or gas leaks before commencing work. Handle the appliance with care, avoiding sharp edges.
- Electrical Safety: Ensure all electrical connections are made by a qualified professional. Improper electrical connections can lead to electric shock.
Installation Steps
Step 1: Prepare the Worktop and Markings
Measure and mark the countertop for the hob's installation. The required cut-out dimensions are 490 mm (+2 mm) wide and 560 mm (+2 mm) deep. Ensure a minimum depth of 55 mm for the hob itself. Drill four holes with a diameter of 10 mm at the corners of the marked cut-out area to facilitate the cutting process with a jigsaw.
Step 2: Cut the Opening
Using a jigsaw, carefully cut along the marked lines to create the precise opening for the hob in the countertop.
Step 3: Position and Secure the Hob
Carefully place the induction hob into the prepared opening. Ensure it sits flush and is correctly aligned. The hob should click into place, indicating it is properly seated.
Step 4: Electrical Connection
Connect the hob to the electrical supply. This step MUST be performed by a qualified technician, following the manufacturer's instructions and local safety regulations. A warning symbol [!] indicates caution is required during electrical connection.
Step 5: Final Placement and Clearances
Ensure correct clearances are maintained for proper ventilation and safe operation. The minimum clearance from the front edge of the worktop is 28 mm. Depending on the cabinet configuration:
- For cabinets with drawers: Maintain a minimum clearance of 100 mm behind the hob and 16 mm from the front edge of the worktop. A minimum clearance of 28 mm is required below the worktop.
- For cabinets installed above an oven: Maintain a minimum clearance of 5 mm below the worktop.
