Download the "W230 WiFi Plug" app and install it on your Android or iOS smartphone. All operations and settings will be managed through the app.

2.2 Set WiFi and Register Device

This section details how to connect the SimPal-W230 to your WiFi network and register it with the app.

Smart-link Mode

This mode connects the W230 to your network. Ensure your smartphone is connected to your desired WiFi network.

  1. Power on the W230. If it fails to connect to WiFi, it will beep five times and then beep every 5 seconds.
  2. Open the app, tap the "+" icon (usually at the top right), and select "Set WiFi and register Device". The app will display your WiFi SSID.
  3. Enter your WiFi password and tap "CONNECT". The SSID and password will be sent to the W230.
  4. Upon successful connection, the W230 will emit a long beep. The app will then display the device's MAC address. Enter a name for your device and tap "Add" to complete registration. The device should appear online within one minute.

AP Mode

Use this mode if your router supports dual 2.4G & 5G bands and you need to configure the W230 specifically.

  1. Power on the W230. If it disconnects from WiFi (indicated by 5 beeps), press the M button for one second to switch to AP mode.
  2. In AP mode, the W230 will beep twice every 5 seconds. It will create a WiFi hotspot named "WiFi_Socket". Connect your mobile phone to this "WiFi_Socket" network (no password required). Note: You may need to enable an option to allow data sending even if the WiFi network cannot connect to the internet.
  3. Open the app, tap "+" to add a new device, and select the "Set WiFi on AP mode" option. The app will automatically detect the "WiFi_Socket" network. Select your own WiFi network and enter its password. Tap "Connect".
  4. The W230 will emit a long beep upon successful connection. Enter a device name to finish registration. If the WiFi password is entered incorrectly, the W230 will fail to connect and beep five times, requiring you to set up the WiFi again.

2.3 Manual Add Device

If the device has already been set up with WiFi:

  1. In the app, click "+" and select "Add device".
  2. Enter the "Device Name" and the device's MAC address (found on the device label or packing box).
  3. Click "Connect" to send a registration request to the device.
  4. The device will beep twice upon receiving the request. Press the W230's M button for 1 second. A long beep from the device indicates acceptance of the registration. The app will then show the device as registered.

2.4 Device List

Upon opening the app, registered devices will be displayed automatically, with their status updated in real-time. The format is as follows:

"Device name" | "Status" | "Temperature" | "Power status"

  • Device name: The custom name assigned during registration, used to differentiate devices.
  • Status: "online" means the device is connected to the server and controllable via the app. "offline" means the device is disconnected from the server and cannot be controlled via the app. The device will automatically reconnect when WiFi is available.
  • Temperature: Displays the current ambient temperature detected by the device, updated every 30 seconds.
  • Power status: "ON" indicates the power plug output is active. "OFF" indicates the power plug output is inactive.

2.5 Power Control

The Power Control page allows for remote on/off switching, setting delayed power actions, and pairing remote controls and wireless sensors.

  • Power ON: Turns the plug's power output ON.
  • Power OFF: Turns the plug's power output OFF.
  • Delay 1-3600 seconds turn off power: Input a time value and select this option to turn the power ON immediately and then turn it OFF after the specified duration.
  • Delay 1-3600 seconds turn on power: Input a time value and select this option to turn the power OFF immediately and then turn it ON after the specified duration.
  • Pair auto control sensors: Used to pair sensors with the power plug. When a sensor is triggered, it activates the delay control function. The time value used is the last setting. For example, if a 30-second delay to turn off power is set, triggering the sensor will turn the power ON immediately and then OFF after 30 seconds.
  • Pair remote control: Used to pair remote controls. Users can use the remote to turn the power OFF, turn it ON, and trigger the delay control function. The delay control time is the same as the last settings.

Note: Sensor and remote control functionality is supported only on the W230-F model.

2.6 Temperature Settings

On the Temperature Settings page, the plug can be configured to act as a thermostat and to send push notifications when the temperature goes out of the set range.

  • Thermostat Control: Configures the plug to work as a thermostat with two modes:
    • A. Warming mode: When the temperature is higher than the "Higher temp" setting, the power will automatically turn OFF. When the temperature is lower than the "Lower temp" setting, the power will automatically turn ON.
    • B. Cooling mode: When the temperature is higher than the "Higher temp" setting, the power will automatically turn ON. When the temperature is lower than the "Lower temp" setting, the power will automatically turn OFF.
  • Temperature alarm: Set a temperature range. If the temperature goes outside this range, the device will automatically send a message.

2.7 Schedule Settings

The Schedule Settings page allows the plug to be automatically turned ON or OFF according to a set schedule.

  • Schedule Control: Automatically turns the power ON/OFF based on the configured schedule.
  • Schedule Alarm: The plug will automatically enter alarm mode according to the set schedule.

2.8 Alarm Settings

(Only W230-F model support this function)

On the Alarm Settings page, users can configure alarm sensors and wireless sirens. Wireless sensors and sirens need to be purchased separately. Only customization FSK sensors are compatible with the plug.

  • Alarm: When alarm is set to ON, the device will push a message and activate a wireless siren when a sensor is triggered. When alarm is set to OFF, sensor signals are ignored.
  • Siren alarm: When set to ON, the siren will activate and sound loudly. When set to OFF, the siren will immediately turn off.
  • Beeper alarm: When set to ON, the plug's built-in beeper will sound for 10 seconds when a sensor alarm occurs. When set to OFF, the beeper will remain silent even during a sensor alarm.
  • Alarm sensor: The device can pair with a maximum of 10 sensors. To pair, input the sensor name and click "Pair". After hearing the plug beep, trigger the sensor to complete the pairing process.

2.9 Reset Factory Settings

Resetting the factory settings will remove the device from all registered app accounts. The device will need to be re-registered on the app after a reset. To perform a reset, press and hold the M button for 10 seconds. The device will emit a long beep, indicating that the factory settings have been restored.
