ASUS ROG STRIX B650-A GAMING WIFI Motherboard Quick Start Guide
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and setting up your ASUS ROG STRIX B650-A GAMING WIFI motherboard.
Motherboard Layout
The motherboard features various components and connectors. Key areas include:
- CPU Socket (Socket AM5)
- DDR5 DIMM slots (DIMM_A1, DIMM_A2, DIMM_B1, DIMM_B2)
- M.2 slots (M.2_1, M.2_2, M.2_3)
- PCIe slots (PCIEX16_1, PCIEX16_2, PCIEX16_3, PCIEX16_4)
- Power connectors (ATX_PWR, ATX_12V_1, ATX_12V_2, PLUG_8PIN_PWR)
- Fan headers (CPU_FAN, CPU_OPT, AIO_PUMP, CHA_FAN1-4)
- Front panel connectors (PANEL, AAFP)
- Rear I/O connectors (HDMI, DP, LAN, USB ports, Audio)

Installation Steps
Step 1: Install the CPU
Open the CPU socket lever, align the CPU with the socket's triangle mark, and gently place the CPU into the socket. Close the lever to secure the CPU.

Step 2: Install the CPU Fan
Mount the CPU cooler according to its manual. Connect the CPU fan cable to the CPU_FAN header on the motherboard.

Step 3: Install Memory Modules
Open the clips on the DIMM slots. Align the notch on the memory module with the notch in the slot, and press down firmly until the clips lock into place.

Step 4: Install Storage Devices
Install M.2 SSDs into the M.2 slots. For detailed M.2 installation, refer to the user guide. Install other storage devices as needed.

Step 5: Install Expansion Card(s)
Open the retention clip of the appropriate PCIe slot. Remove the corresponding expansion slot cover(s) on the back of the chassis. Align the expansion card with the slot and press down firmly until it is seated. Secure the card with screws.

Step 6: Install the System Panel Connector
Connect the system panel connectors (power switch, reset switch, HDD LED, power LED) to the corresponding pins on the motherboard.

Step 7: Install ATX Power Connectors
Connect the 24-pin ATX power connector and the 8-pin ATX 12V power connector to the motherboard.

Step 8: Connect Input/Output Devices
Connect your monitor, keyboard, mouse, and other peripherals to the appropriate ports on the rear I/O panel.

Step 9: Power On and Install OS/Drivers
Connect the power cord, turn on the system, and proceed to install your operating system and necessary drivers.
