This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. Important Notes:
⚠️ Use only original equipped DATECS cable USB-A to USB-B micro.
⚠️ Use only UL approved USB adapters. The minimum requirements of USB adapter is 5V/1A.

General View
The SumUp Air Lite v2 device has the following components:
- 1. Opening for inserting smart card: The slot where smart cards are inserted.
- 2. Magnetic Card Reader: The slot for swiping magnetic stripe cards.
- 3. On/Off Button: Used to power the device on/off and for confirming Bluetooth pairing.
- 4. Micro USB port: For charging the device and connecting to a PC.
- 5. LEDs indication: Lights indicating the status of contactless transactions and other operations.
- 6. Contactless reader: The area on the device for contactless card transactions.

Getting Started
The SumUp Air Lite v2 is equipped with a rechargeable Li-Ion battery and can be charged via the micro USB port.
⚠️ Before first use, the battery must be fully charged. If the device is fully discharged, charging time to fully charged would be approximately 2 hours.

Main battery replacement: To replace the main battery of SumUp Air Lite v2, please contact your local Datecs representative or service provider.
Periodic Inspection and Maintenance
The following inspections must be performed on a regular basis after initial receipt and installation of SumUp Air Lite v2:
- There are no visual indications for trying unauthorized opening of the device.
- There are no unusual wires connected to the ICC acceptor or any of the ports on the terminal.
- There is no shim device in the ICC acceptor slot.
- The terminal serial number (on the label) corresponds to the one in the inventory paperwork.
Operation Modes
For operating with SumUp Air Lite v2, it needs to be paired to another Bluetooth BLE device with an installed application. For downloading the latest SDKs for iOS, Android, and Windows, please contact your distributor.
Application download mode, System mode and Clearing Bluetooth pairing info
- Application download mode: To enter this mode, maintain the power button pressed and attach the USB cable. A characteristic sound plays, and the first LED lights up. Keep the power button pressed until the second LED lights up, then release. A characteristic sound indicates the device is in Boot Loader/Application download mode.
- System mode: To enter "SYSTEM MODE", maintain the power button pressed and attach the USB cable. A characteristic sound plays, and the first LED lights up. Keep the power button pressed until the third LED lights up, then release.
- Clear Bluetooth pairing information: To enter "Clear Bluetooth Pairing Info/Master Reset of Bluetooth", maintain the power button pressed. A characteristic sound plays, and all LEDs light up. Keep the power button pressed until the fourth LED lights up, then release. The pairing info will be cleared after a characteristic sound plays.
- Clear Bluetooth pairing information (with USB): To enter "Clear Bluetooth Pairing Info/Master Reset of Bluetooth" with USB attached, maintain the power button pressed and attach the USB cable. A characteristic sound plays, and the first LED lights up. Keep the power button pressed until the fourth LED lights up, then release. The pairing info will be cleared after a characteristic sound plays.

Bluetooth Pairing
To pair the SumUp Air Lite v2 with a PC via USB cable:
- Turn on the SumUp Air Lite v2 and connect it to the PC via USB cable. A virtual COM port will be created.
- Check the device manager to identify the connected COM port.
- Run the special PC application. Press the "Search" button to display available COM ports.
- Select the correct COM port and press "Connect to device".
- On the mobile device (equipped with BLE 4.2), select to connect to SumUp Air Lite v2.
- A PASSKEY will be displayed on the mobile device screen (Fig. 6). All LEDs on the SumUp Air Lite v2 will light up one by one.
- The PC application will also display the Passkey (Fig. 4). If the Passkeys match, press the "Power button" on the SumUp Air Lite v2 to confirm (Fig. 5).
- The PC application will display "THE DEVICES ARE CONNECTED" (Fig. 7).
- If the Passkeys do not match, do not press the button and wait 60 seconds for the pairing to time out.

Magnetic Cards Reading
The SumUp Air Lite v2 features a built-in magnetic card reader with a 3-track magnetic read head, capable of reading data from all three tracks with a single swipe.
The magnetic reading head is positioned facing down, towards the top of the bottom cover. When swiping a card, the magnetic stripe should be oriented as shown in the figure. Ensure the edge of the card is flat against the inner base of the reader for an even swipe over the reading head.

Contactless Cards Reading
The procedure for contactless card transactions may vary depending on the application loaded on the SumUp Air Lite v2. Verify the correct procedure with your application provider before performing a contactless transaction.
To use the contactless card reading function, special software is required. Contact your distributor for the latest demo application and SDK.
To Conduct a Contactless Credit/Debit Card Transaction:
- Place a contactless card on the SumUp Air Lite v2's contactless logo area.
- Remove the card when the display indicates the transaction is completed.

Smart Cards Reading
The smart card transaction procedure can vary depending on the application loaded on the SumUp Air Lite v2. Verify the proper procedure with your application provider before performing a smart card transaction.
To Conduct a Smart Card Transaction:
- Position a smart card with the gold contacts facing upward.
- Insert it into the ICC card reader slot in a smooth, continuous motion until it seats firmly.
- Remove the card when the display indicates the transaction is completed.

Care, Maintenance and Warranty
- Keep the SumUp Air Lite v2 out of the reach of small children.
- Keep the SumUp Air Lite v2 dry. Precipitation, humidity, and liquids containing minerals can corrode electronic circuits.
- Do not use or store in dusty or dirty areas.
- Do not drop or knock the SumUp Air Lite v2.
- Do not open the SumUp Air Lite v2. Only qualified personnel can open the device and perform repairs. If the SumUp Air Lite v2 is not working, please contact your dealer.
- It is forbidden to allow unqualified personnel to service your SumUp Air Lite v2.
