Important Safety Information: Read this manual and any compatible hardware manuals before use. Retain for future reference. Parents/guardians should read for safe use by children.
General Safety: This product is designed with safety as a priority. Improper use of any electrical device can lead to fire, electric shock, or injury. Observe all warnings, precautions, and instructions. Stop use and disconnect cables immediately if the product functions abnormally, produces unusual sounds or smells, or becomes too hot to touch.
Warnings
Radio Waves
Radio waves may affect electronic equipment or medical devices (e.g., pacemakers), potentially causing malfunctions or injuries. If you use a pacemaker or other medical device, consult your doctor or medical device manufacturer before using wireless features (Bluetooth® and wireless LAN). Do not use wireless features in prohibited locations such as hospitals or near fire alarms, automatic doors, and other automated equipment.
Magnets and Medical Devices
This product contains magnets that may interfere with pacemakers, defibrillators, and other medical devices. Do not place the product near such devices or persons using them. Consult your doctor before use if you use such medical devices.
Volume Level
Permanent hearing loss may occur if headset or headphones are used at high volume. Set the volume to a safe level. Protect your hearing by limiting high-volume use, avoiding volume boosts to block noisy surroundings, and lowering the volume if you cannot hear nearby conversations.
Lithium-Ion Battery
The controller contains a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. Do not handle damaged or leaking batteries. If battery fluid leaks, stop use immediately and contact PlayStation customer service. Avoid eye contact; flush eyes with clean water and seek medical attention. If material contacts skin or clothes, rinse the affected area with clean water and consult a doctor. Do not expose the battery to fire or extreme temperatures. Never attempt to open, crush, heat, or ignite the controller or battery. Do not leave the battery charging for prolonged periods when the controller is not in use.
Young Children Injuries
Keep the product out of reach of young children. Small parts can be swallowed, and cables can cause entanglement, leading to injury or accidents.
Unauthorized Modification: Never disassemble or modify the product or accessories unless authorized in this manual. Doing so risks fire, electric shock, or injury and voids the manufacturer's warranty.
Precautions
Taking Breaks
Avoid prolonged continuous use. It is recommended to take 15-minute breaks for every hour of play. Avoid playing when tired or needing sleep.
Physical Discomfort: Stop using the product immediately if you feel tired or experience discomfort or pain in your hands or arms while operating the controller. Consult a doctor if the condition persists. Discontinue use if you experience dizziness, nausea, fatigue, motion sickness symptoms, or discomfort or pain in body parts like eyes, ears, hands, or arms.
Vibration Function
Controller vibration on a flat surface may cause it to fall, leading to injury or malfunction. Do not use vibration or trigger effect functions if you have ailments or injuries to body parts such as bones, joints, or muscles of the hand or arm. To disable these features, select Settings > Accessories from the PS5 console home screen.
Static Shock
In dry air conditions, you may experience a small static shock on your ears when using a headset or headphones. This is due to accumulated static electricity and not a product malfunction. Wearing clothes made from materials that do not easily generate static shock can reduce this effect.
Motion Sensor
When using the motion sensor function, be cautious. The controller hitting a person or object may cause accidental injury or damage. Ensure you have enough space to move around. Grip the controller firmly to prevent it from slipping. If using a USB-connected controller, ensure the cable has enough space to avoid hitting people or objects.
Light Bar
Do not stare at the light bar when it is blinking. Stop using the controller immediately if you experience any discomfort or pain.
