HEINE – Compatibility Matrix for Charger, Handle & Battery
Compatibility guide for HEINEs most common Chargers, Handles and Batteries from 1994 to 2020. This covers the majority of product combinations on today's market. Notice! This guide only applies for BETA Instrument handles and does NOT apply for HEINE Laryngoscope handles.
Table Chargers
NT 200: Launched 1994, discontinued in 2011. Compatible with BETA NT and BETA L handles.

NT 300: Launched 2010. Replaced NT 200, still in production, being phased out. Compatible with BETA NT and BETA L handles.

NT4: Launched 2016. Latest technology with innovative functions and intelligent charging. Only compatible with BETA4 generation handles.

Batteries
NiMH Battery (X-002.99.382):

This is the NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) battery. It is an older technology with an estimated life time of 12-18 months. HEINE warranty is 12 months.
Li-ion Batteries (X-007.99.381 and X-007.99.383):

These are Li-ion (Lithium-ion) batteries. This new technology offers an estimated life time of up to 60 months. HEINE warranty is 12 months.
Handles
The handle model is always defined by its bottom cap/insert as shown in the pictures. You can always modify BETA handles by exchanging the bottom cap/insert and battery. Make sure to combine the handle with a compatible charger. A modification from 2.5V to 3.5V, and vice versa, normally also requires new bulbs with matching voltage for the instrument heads.
A 2.5V handle must only be used with 2.5V bulbs. The DELTA 20T Dermatoscope is the ONLY LEDHQ-instrument head compatible with both BETA 2.5V and 3.5V handles.
A 3.5V handle must only be used with 3.5V bulbs or service-free LEDHQ-instruments.

- Battery Handle: Shows "HEINE BETA".
- TR Handle: Shows "HEINE BETA TR 3", "CE", and an insertion indicator.
- USB Handle: Shows "HEINE BETA USB", "CE", and "3.5V 500mA".
- Handle for NT 200/NT 300: Shows "HEINE BETA", "Made in Germany", "BETA L", and "3.5V".
- Handle for NT4: Shows "HEINE BETA 4 NT", "Li-ion", "CE", and "Made in Germany BETA4 N7".
