BUSUNGE Extendable Bed Assembly Instructions
This document provides step-by-step instructions for assembling the IKEA BUSUNGE extendable bed.
General Assembly Information
Tools required: Screwdriver, Hammer.
Important: Ensure all parts are present before starting. Assemble on a soft surface like a rug to prevent scratches. Two people may be needed for certain steps. If you encounter any issues or have questions, please contact IKEA customer support.

Assembly Steps
Step 1: Prepare Base Supports
Attach four cam lock housings (114671) to the two base support pieces. Insert the housings into the larger holes and ensure they are oriented correctly.
Step 2: Attach Side Panels
Connect the two side panels to the base supports. Insert six cam lock screws (114613) through the pre-drilled holes in the side panels and into the base supports. Tighten the cam locks by turning them clockwise with a screwdriver.
Step 3: Connect Frame Sections
Attach two connecting pins/dowels (101532) into the designated holes on the side panels.
Step 4: Insert Dowels
Insert twelve wooden dowels (101359) into the corresponding holes on the frame sections that will connect to the side panels.
Step 5: Attach Cam Locks (Part 1)
Insert four cam lock housings (114670) into the larger frame pieces that will form the main bed structure.
Step 6: Attach Cam Locks (Part 2)
Insert another four cam lock housings (114670) into the remaining larger frame pieces.
Step 7: Connect Frame Sections
Slide the frame sections together, aligning the dowels and cam lock screws with their respective holes.
Step 8: Attach Vertical Supports (Part 1)
Attach one vertical support to the assembled base. Insert two cam lock screws (100049) through the base and into the vertical support. Tighten the cam locks.
Step 9: Attach Vertical Supports (Part 2)
Attach the second vertical support to the other side of the assembled base using two cam lock screws (100049). Tighten the cam locks.
Step 10: Connect Main Bed Frame
Connect the two main bed frame sections together, ensuring alignment.
Step 11: Attach Headboard/Footboard Elements (Part 1)
Attach the upper side rails to the vertical supports. Insert two cam lock screws (110126) through the side rails and into the vertical supports. Secure by turning the cam locks.
Step 12: Attach Headboard/Footboard Elements (Part 2)
Attach the remaining upper side rails to the vertical supports using two cam lock screws (110126) and securing the cam locks.
Step 13: Attach Slatted Bed Base Supports
Attach the side rails (139274) to the main frame. Use two screws (100092), one screw (108490), and two dowels (121121) for one side.
Step 14: Secure Slatted Bed Base Supports
Attach the other side rail (139274) to the main frame using two screws (100263) and two dowels (101359).
Step 15: Insert Slatted Bed Base
Carefully slide the slatted bed base into the assembled frame.
Step 16: Secure Slatted Bed Base
Secure the slatted bed base by inserting six screws (102370) into the designated holes.
Step 17: Attach Protective Caps
Attach six protective caps (122305) to the ends of the slatted bed base supports.
Step 18: Final Frame Assembly
Attach the remaining side rail (139275) to the main frame using two screws (108442).
Step 19: Attach Side Rails
Attach the side rails to the headboard/footboard sections. Use two cam lock screws (121212) and secure with cam locks (100092).
Step 20: Final Check
A warning symbol [!] indicates caution is advised. Ensure all connections are secure before use.
