Safety Information
READ AND SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
- This fan is applicable only for gazebos or pagodas where a reliable mounting bracket is provided.
- Ensure the hanging structure can support a minimum weight of 65 lbs. If unsure, do not attempt installation as it may cause damage or personal injury. Contact a qualified, licensed electrician for mounting advice.
- Do not use water or a damp cloth to clean the fan.
- To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, disconnect the electric supply circuit to the fan before installing, cleaning, or servicing.
- Unplug or disconnect the appliance from the power supply before servicing.
- Do not use this fan with any solid-state speed control device.
- Use only on GFCI-protected receptacles.
- This product employs overload protection (fuse). A blown fuse indicates an overload or short-circuit situation. If the fuse blows, unplug the product and replace the fuse as per user servicing instructions (follow product marking for fuse rating). If the replacement fuse blows, a short circuit may have occurred; discard or return the product for repair.
- Do not operate any fan with a damaged cord or plug. Discard or return to an authorized service facility.
- Do not run cord under carpet or cover with rugs. Do not route cord under furniture or appliances; arrange cord away from traffic areas to prevent tripping.
- Do not strain the power cord.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury, do not insert foreign objects inside the fan cage. Do not damage or deform the fan cage. The power cord will not support the weight of a fixture; pulling the power cord may result in the fixture falling, causing personal injury and electrical shock or fire.
Preparation
Before beginning assembly, ensure all parts are present by comparing them with the package contents and hardware lists. Do not attempt assembly if any part is missing or damaged.
Estimated Assembly Time: 45 minutes
Tools Required for Assembly (not included): Philips Screwdriver, Step Ladder, Tape, and Pliers.
Assembly Instructions
IMPORTANT: To avoid over-pulling and damaging the wire and plug, turn off circuit breakers and the wall switch for the fan supply line leads.
Step 1: Choose the desired mounting method
A. Standard Mounting: For ceilings higher than 8 ft., an extension downrod can be purchased separately.
B. Angle Mounting: Used for vaulted or angled ceilings.
Note: The preferred mounting method is for gazebos or pagodas. Other methods are supported, such as mounting on drywall, provided the surface supports a minimum weight of 65 lbs.
Diagram 1 shows two mounting configurations: A standard ceiling mount and an angle mount.
Step 2: Prepare the motor body
Remove the clip (H) and cross pin (G) from the coupling (F) on the motor body (D). Loosen the coupling screws (I) on the motor body (D).
Diagram 2 shows the motor body (D) with the coupling (F), coupling screws (I), cross pin (G), and clip (H) highlighted for removal.
Step 3: Attach the downrod assembly
Insert the downrod assembly (A) through the coupling cover (B) into the coupling (F). Align the hole in the downrod assembly (A) with the hole in the coupling (F). Install the cross pin (G) through the coupling (F) and downrod assembly (A). Insert the clip (H) into the cross pin (G) until it snaps into place. Tighten the coupling screws (I) and slide the coupling cover (B) onto the motor body (D).
Diagram 3 illustrates inserting the downrod assembly (A) through the coupling cover (B) into the coupling (F), securing it with the cross pin (G) and clip (H), and tightening screws (I).
Step 4: Secure the wire and rod clip
Secure the wire from the motor body (D) to the downrod assembly (A) using the rod clip (C). Use the set screw (AA) and acorn nut (BB) to tighten the rod clip (C).
Diagram 4 shows the rod clip (C) attached to the downrod assembly (A) using set screw (AA) and acorn nut (BB), with wires from the motor body (D) secured.
Step 5: Mount the fan assembly
For ceiling-mount installations, attach a standard mounting bracket (not included) to the ceiling or outdoor gazebo/pagoda according to the bracket's instructions. Then, attach the fan assembly to the mounting bracket using the spring clip on the downrod assembly (A).
WARNING: Ensure the hanging structure can support a minimum weight of 65 lbs and allows enough depth for safe mounting. If unsure, do not attempt installation, as the fan may fall, causing damage or personal injury.
Diagram 5 shows a mounting bracket attached to a ceiling, with the fan's spring clip connecting to it.
Step 6: Secure the power cord
Peel the backing off the adhesive tape stripes on the bottom of the wire clips (E). Attach the wire clips (E) as needed to the wall or ceiling and press gently. Clip the power cord to the wire clips (E). Plug the power cord into a ground 3-prong outlet. Once power is restored, the fan is ready to use.
Diagram 6 shows wire clips (E) attached to a surface, holding the fan's power cord.
Operating Instructions
The knob on the bottom of the fan controls the fan speed. The settings are: High, Medium, Low, and Off.
Diagram 1 shows the fan's bottom with a speed control knob, indicating settings for High, Medium, Low, and Off.
Care and Maintenance
IMPORTANT: Shut off the main power supply before beginning any maintenance. Do not use water or a damp cloth to clean the fan.
- Clean the fan housing with only a soft brush or lint-free cloth to avoid scratching the finish. Clean blades with a lint-free cloth.
- This product has overload protection (fuse). A blown fuse indicates an overload or short-circuit situation. If the fuse blows:
- Grab the plug and remove it from the receptacle or other outlet device. Do not unplug by pulling on the cord.
- Slide open the fuse access cover on top of the attachment plug toward the blades.
- Remove the fuse carefully.
- Replace the fuse.
- Slide closed the fuse access cover on top of the attachment plug.
CAUTION: Risk of fire. Use only 5-amp, 125-volt fuses.
CAUTION: Risk of fire. Do NOT replace the attachment plug, as it contains a safety device (fuse) that should not be removed. Discard the product if the attachment plug is damaged.
