PeakTech 2240 AC Power Source - Operation Manual
This document provides the operation manual for the PeakTech 2240 AC Power Source, also known as a Trenntransformator or Isolating Transformer.
1. Safety Precautions
This product complies with European Community Directives 2014/30/EU (Electromagnetic Compatibility) and 2014/35/EU (Low Voltage), as amended by 2014/32/EU (CE-Marking). To ensure safe operation and prevent serious injury from short-circuits, observe the following safety precautions. Failure to do so may exempt PeakTech from any legal claims.
Connection:
- This unit must only be used within its specified field of application.
- Before connecting to an electrical outlet, verify that the unit's rated voltage matches the local power supply.
- Connect Class I devices only to sockets with an earth connection.
- Use only accessories suitable for the device.
Operating Conditions:
- This unit is designed exclusively for indoor use in dry rooms.
- Operate the device only with dry clothing and hands.
- Do not place the device on damp or wet surfaces.
- Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, high humidity, or wetness.
- Prevent strong vibrations and tipping over the appliance.
- Before operation, allow the device to stabilize to the ambient temperature, especially after transport between cold and warm environments.
- Condensation can damage the device and the user; avoid it.
- Do not place liquids on or near the device to prevent short circuits.
Handling Equipment:
- Operation should be performed only by or under the supervision of trained personnel.
- Keep ventilation slots in the housing uncovered to prevent heat buildup.
- Do not insert metal objects through the vents.
- Do not exceed maximum input values under any circumstances to avoid serious injury or device destruction.
- Never operate the device if it is not completely closed.
- Check the device and accessories for damage before use. If in doubt, do not use.
- Always comply with warning labels on the appliance.
- Devices must not be operated without supervision.
- Operate devices with voltages above 35V DC or 25V AC only in accordance with relevant safety regulations, as higher voltages can cause dangerous electric shocks.
- Avoid proximity to explosive and flammable materials.
- Do not modify the equipment in any way.
Maintenance:
- Opening the device and performing maintenance or repair work should only be done by qualified service personnel or a specialized workshop.
- Replace defective fuses only with fuses of the same rating as the original.
- Never short-circuit a fuse or fuse holder.
Cleaning the Unit:
Before cleaning, disconnect the mains plug from the socket. Clean the device only with a damp, lint-free cloth. Do not use steel wool or abrasive cleaning agents; use a commercially available detergent. Ensure that no liquid enters the interior of the device during cleaning, as this could cause a short circuit and damage the device.

3. Operating Panel
The PeakTech 2240 features the following controls and indicators:
- 1. Power switch: Turns the device on and off.
- 2. Primary fuse Socket: Houses the main fuse.
- 3. Secondary voltage output: A C-Type socket providing the output voltage (230 V/50 Hz).
- 4. Handle grip: For carrying the device.
4. Preparations for using the AC power source
Before connecting the mains plug to the power outlet, ensure that the line voltage corresponds with the selected line voltage of the AC power source. A warning symbol ⚠️ indicates important safety information.
4.1. Adjustment of output voltage
Caution! Before connecting this power supply to the load, ensure that the specified maximum output current is not exceeded. Only one load is allowed to connect to the AC-power source.
- Disconnect the power cord from the AC power source.
- The output voltage cannot be adjusted. It is determined by the input voltage. If 230V is the input voltage, the output voltage will also be 230V.
- The power supply is now ready for operation.
4.2. Maintenance
If the AC power source does not function properly or becomes defective, return it to your local dealer for repair.
