Owner's Manual
PRECAUTIONS
Please be aware of the following precautions:
- ⚠️ Do not disassemble the scale. If the scale is damaged or not operating properly, please contact your CAS authorized dealer for repair.
- ⚠️ Do not overload the scale beyond the maximum capacity.
- ⚠️ The scale must be grounded to reduce any potential shock and damage.
- ⚠️ Do not pull the plug by its cord when unplugging.
- ⚠️ Do not place or use the scale near flammable or corrosive gas.
- ⚠️ To reduce electric shock and/or damage the scale, do not spill water or operate it in humid conditions.
- ⚠️ Avoid placing the scale near a heat source or in direct sunlight.
- ⚠️ If using the USB cable with an AC adapter for power, make sure the AC adapter is plugged firmly into the outlet to prevent electric shock.
- ⚠️ Use the proper AC adapter.
Attention: Plug your scale into a stable power outlet. For maximum performance, power up the scale thirty minutes before usage.
- For consistent, accurate readings, your scale should be periodically checked by an authorized CAS Dealer.
- Avoid sudden shocks to the scale.
- Pick the scale up from the bottom of the base.
- Keep the scale away from other electromagnetic generating devices. This may interfere with accurate readings.
- Place the scale on a firm, stable platform and in a consistent temperature environment while in use.
- Level the scale by adjusting the feet and using the bubble indicator.
- If the scale is supplied with a rechargeable battery, remove it when not in use for long periods of time.

Thank you for purchasing CAS PDN POS Interface Scale. The PDN Series has been designed with CAS reliability under rigid quality control so that you may enjoy years of outstanding performance. This manual will help you with the proper operation and care of the PDN. Please keep this manual for future reference.
NAMES AND FUNCTIONS
The scale consists of the following parts:
- PLATTER: The surface where items are placed for weighing.
- DISPLAY: Shows weight, units, and other information.
- KEY BOARD: Contains buttons for operating the scale.
- REMOTE DISPLAY: An optional display unit that can be placed separately.
- ADJUSTING BOLT: Used to level the scale.
INSTALLATION
- Disassembly is the reverse of assembly.
- Be careful not to damage the wire when removing the display connector.
How to adjust and move the 'DISPLAY'
1) Adjusting the display angle:
- Detach the display.
- Adjust the angle if necessary.
2) How to move the display:
- Move the display & connect the wire connector.
- Attach the display.
- Complete by combining bolts.
How to connect a 'REMOTE D/P' – U Type
- Check the location to connect the REMOTE D/P.
- Connect the wire connector.
- Wire arrangement & Attach the bracket cover.
- Fasten the pole to the body.
How to connect a 'REMOTE D/P' – RT / RS / RD Type
- Check the location to connect the REMOTE D/P.
- Insert the REMOTE D/P wire (*inside the body).
- Connect the connector & fasten it with a clamp.
- Attach a sticker on the bottom surface.
DISPLAY & KEYBOARD
PDN (MAIN) Display
Shows weight, status indicators (ST, NET), and keys (ZERO, TARE, UNIT).
PDN (REMOTE) Display
Similar display for remote units.

OPERATIONS
- Turn on the display by pressing the power switch. The display will show all the segments and count up "0" to "9".
- When you turn on the display, make sure that the platter is empty. Otherwise, the display will show "Err 1", an error of initial zero range. Please refer to "ERROR MESSAGE" section for more information on page 14.
- When the weight becomes stable, the display will show the stable sign ▼.
- You may need to zero the scale ("0.000") by pressing the
ZERO
key unless the display already indicates "0.000".
1. Simple Weighing Mode
1. Place a commodity on the platter.
2. Remove the commodity from the platter.
2. Weighing with Tare
TARE means the weight of a container being used for a commodity. The TARE key function subtracts the weight of the container from the full gross weight.
- Place a container on the platter.
- Press the
TARE
key, then the display will show "0.00". - Place a commodity into the container, then the display will show only the weight of the commodity.
- Remove container and commodity, then the display will show the weight of the container with "-" symbol.
- Press the
TARE
key, then the display will show "0.00".
SETUP MODE
3-1. How to Go to Setup Mode
Make sure that power is OFF. While pressing the ZERO
key, press the power switch. The display shows "U SEt". You can select each menu by pressing the ZERO
key and change the setting by pressing the TARE
key. If you press the ZERO
key, you can save the current setting and go to the next mode.
Default communication is USB.

How to Use the ECR Protocols
4-1. ECR Port
1) Mode Setting
- If you select USB ECR, you will perform ECR communication through the USB port.
- If you select RS232 ECR, you will perform ECR communication through the RS232 port.
- You can select different ECR protocols for RS232 and USB.
4-2. ECR Type

PDN can interface with most ECRs by selecting TYPE 0 to TYPE 15. Protocol selections are shown on the next page.

How to Use BLE (Option)
5-1. BLE Mode
1) Mode Setting
- This Mode is 'BLE Mode'. Please refer to page 13.
- In BLE mode, the PDN can communicate with your POS terminal via Bluetooth (only for PDN units with the optional Bluetooth module).
ERROR MESSAGE
Error Message on Display | Description | Solution |

"Err 0" | "Err 0" occurs when scale is not stable. | Weigh the commodity in a stable environment. |
"Err 1" | "Err 1" occurs when a current zero point has shifted from the last span calibration. | Please call your CAS dealer. |
