Introduction
This guide provides essential steps for installing and setting up your QNAP NAS device. It covers drive installation, network connection, and initial software configuration.
What's Included
Your QNAP NAS package typically contains the following:
- NAS device
- Power adapter and cable ?
- Ethernet cable ?
- Drive trays for 2.5-inch SSD/HDD
- Drive trays for 3.5-inch HDD
- Screws for drive installation ?

Drive Installation
Follow these steps to install your storage drives.
Step 01: Prepare Drive Tray
For 3.5-inch HDD: Slide the 3.5-inch HDD into the drive tray. Ensure it is seated correctly.
For 2.5-inch HDD/SSD: Place the 2.5-inch drive onto the drive tray and secure it using the provided screws ?.

Step 02: Install Drive into NAS
Slide the prepared drive tray into an empty drive bay on the NAS. Push it in until it clicks or is flush with the front panel. Lock the drive tray using the key mechanism ??.

M.2 NVMe SSD Installation (Optional)
If your model supports M.2 NVMe SSDs:
- Remove the NAS top cover by sliding it backward and lifting it off.
- Insert the M.2 NVMe SSD into the designated slot at an angle.
- Press the SSD down and secure it with the provided screw or clip.
- An optional heatsink may be installed on the M.2 SSD for thermal management.

Power and Network Connection
Step 03: Connect and Power On
- Connect the Ethernet cable ? from the NAS to your router or network switch.
- Connect the power adapter to the NAS and plug the power cable into a wall outlet ?.
- Press the power button ⏻ to turn on the NAS.

Software Setup
Qfinder Pro
Download and install the QNAP Qfinder Pro utility from http://www.qnap.com/qfinderpro. Use Qfinder Pro to locate your NAS on the network and proceed with the initial setup.

Service Portal & Cloud Installation
For cloud-based setup and management, visit https://service.qnap.com/install. You can choose to 'Set up my device' or use 'Cloud Installation'. If you encounter issues, you can create a support ticket.
