This guide provides essential steps for setting up your QNAP NAS device.
What's Included
Your QNAP NAS package typically includes:
- The QNAP NAS unit
- Cables for connectivity
- Screws for drive installation (2.5" SSD/HDD and 3.5" HDD)

Important Note on HDD Initialization
Warning: All data on the drive will be cleared upon HDD initialization. Ensure you have backed up any important data before proceeding.

Installation Steps
Follow these steps to install your hard drives:
Step 01: Preparing the NAS Unit

1. Remove the securing screw [screw].
2. Slide the top cover backward.
3. Lift the top cover off the NAS unit.
Step 02: Installing a 3.5" HDD

1. Place the 3.5" HDD into the drive bay.
2. Secure the HDD using the provided screws [screw].
Step 03: Installing a 2.5" HDD / SSD

1. Place the 2.5" HDD or SSD into the drive bay.

Step 04: Closing the NAS Unit

1. Slide the top cover back into place.

Step 05: Connecting Power and Network

The NAS will power on. You can then access the login interface, typically using default credentials like 'admin' and a MAC address.
Software Setup with Qfinder Pro
QNAP provides the Qfinder Pro utility to help you discover and set up your NAS. It is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
