Troubleshooting
- If you experience distorted sound or loss of performance after installing your speakers, check the connections running from your amplifier or other processors to the speaker box. Ensure no wires inside the box have become unhooked or are loose.
- If the above does not resolve the problem, thoroughly inspect your enclosure for any leaks, cracks, or broken pieces. Loss of structural integrity can cause significant performance loss and distortion.
- Next, remove the speakers and look for any burned wire leads or separated components. A burning smell often indicates a blown speaker. Overplaying speakers at high volumes for extended periods can cause them to heat up.
- If the problem persists, check all other components in the vehicle, including connections to and from the amplifier, source unit, or any other processors. Refer to the respective manufacturer's documentation for specific settings or troubleshooting.
Important Warnings
General Warning:
Before drilling or cutting any holes in your automobile, thoroughly investigate the layout. Exercise caution when working near gas tanks, gas lines, hydraulic lines, and electrical wiring. Securely attach the system to the automobile to prevent damage, especially in the event of an accident. Ensure wire connections are protected and not subject to pinching or damage from nearby objects.
Electrical Warning:
The +12V DC power wire must be fused at the battery positive terminal. Before making or breaking power connections, disconnect the +12V wire at the battery. Confirm your radio/head unit or other equipment is turned off while connecting input jacks and subwoofer terminals.
Fuse Replacement:
If you need to replace the power fuse, use only a fuse identical in type and rating to the one supplied with the system. Using a fuse of different type or rating may result in damage.
Sound Level Warning:
Continuous, excessive exposure to sound pressure levels exceeding 85dB can cause hearing loss. Blaupunkt sound systems are capable of producing high sound pressure levels but are designed for enjoyment at reasonable levels. Please observe all local sound ordinances.
