Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX For PlayStation - No Mic Audio
If you are having issues being heard when using your Stealth 700 Gen 2 MAX For PlayStation headset, please try the following steps.
WHEN IN PS MODE
1. Headset And Transmitter Are Paired/Transmitter Is In Correct Mode
The headset and transmitter need to be paired for the mic to work. Ensure they are paired by double-checking the LEDs on both. When paired and the mic is muted, headset LED is solid BLUE and transmitter LED is breathing/pulsing RED. When paired and mic is unmuted, both LEDs are solid BLUE.
2. Verify Console/Game Settings Are Configured Correctly
If headset and transmitter LEDs are solid but you cannot be heard in chat, console or game settings may be misconfigured.
- PS4: Go to Settings > Devices > Audio Devices and select USB Headset (Stealth 700). Return one screen to "Adjust Microphone Level" and follow on-screen calibration. If the bar moves when you speak, the mic is working.
- Ensure in-game settings are correct: chat enabled, Push-To-Talk disabled, and recording thresholds at minimum.
If the microphone still isn't working with correct settings, continue to Step 3.
3. Bluetooth Test Call
*For this test, you will need a Bluetooth-compatible smartphone.
- Hold down the headset's Bluetooth button until you hear the "Bluetooth Pairing" voice prompt.
- Connect to your headset in your phone's Bluetooth Settings.
- Make a test call on the phone. Keep the phone covered and away from you to ensure the headset's mic is picking up sound, not the phone's internal microphones.
- During that test call, could you be heard clearly when you spoke into the mic?
If you can be heard clearly during that test call, the mic itself is working well.
If you cannot be heard clearly during that test call, please contact Turtle Beach support team.
4. Power Cycle Headset.
- Unplug the USB Transmitter from the console.
- Press and Hold the Power Button on the Headset until you hear the "Powering Off" voice prompt.
- Let everything sit for a few seconds.
- Press and Hold the Power Button on the Headset until you hear the "Powering On" voice prompt.
- Plug the USB Transmitter back into the console.
- Then, re-pair the headset and transmitter.
To re-pair the headset:
- Put the transmitter into the "PS" mode.
- Connect the transmitter to the USB port. If using with a PS5, it is recommended to insert the transmitter into the USB port at the front of the PS5 console.
- Power the headset on.
- Wait for the headset and transmitter to pair.
WHEN IN PC MODE
1. Headset Is Paired/Transmitter Is In PC Mode
If both LEDs are solid BLUE, double-check that the transmitter is in the correct mode (PS or PC). If the transmitter is in PS mode but connected to a Windows PC or Mac, audio issues may occur even if paired successfully.
2. Check Platforms/Game Settings
For some Windows PCs or Mac computers, the headset needs to be set as the default device in computer settings. Games or programs may also have independent audio settings for input and output devices.
Check computer settings first, then game settings, as these will vary by computer type.
3. Recording Test
If the headset and transmitter are paired, the transmitter is in the correct mode, and settings are configured correctly, try a recording test using an application like Sound Recorder or Quick Time.
When playing back the recording, can you hear your voice clearly and consistently?
If you cannot hear your voice clearly when playing back the recording, please contact Turtle Beach support team.
4. Bluetooth Test Call
The next step would be to test the headset with a different device.
