CGc LTE Box
M-Bus Metering Gateway with an Integrated LTE Router
Introduction
The CGc-Box is composed of a CMe3100 and an LTE router that communicate via the mobile network using a SIM card. The CMe3100 is easily configured and updated via its accompanying web interface and supports a wide range of integration protocols, such as BACnet IP, Modbus TCP, DLMS, JSON, REST, MQTT, FTP, and HTTP, making the product useful in many different types of metering projects.
Important: To maintain the enclosure's protection class, it is crucial not to drill new holes into the casing.
Power Supply
Installation should be handled by a qualified technician or an installer with the necessary knowledge. The box is equipped with a switch to de-energize the unit for service work. Use a screwdriver to remove any M20 knock-out from the bottom of the enclosure and connect a power cable from the mains to the wall socket. The included cable gland is used to secure the cable in the box.
SIM Card
For the LTE router to connect to the mobile network, a standard SIM card must be installed in the unit. Elvaco can provide the router with a SIM card, or the customer can use their own. Please contact order@elvaco.se.
Antenna
The LTE router is supplied with an antenna for the mobile network. Connect this to the SMA connector on the gateway.
Important: Ensure that antennas are not placed near any metal object or the M-Bus wire.
LTE Router Configuration
Logging into the LTE Router Web Interface
By logging into the LTE gateway's web interface, the unit's settings can be configured. Connect the router to your computer's network port using a network cable. Enter the IP address 192.168.2.1 in your web browser's address bar and log in using the following credentials:
Username: admin
Password: admin01
Changing Settings
The LTE router requires manual configuration through its web interface. Elvaco can pre-configure the router. Please contact sales@elvaco.se.
Changing APN
Navigate to Network Interfaces -> MOB1S1A1 and disable Auto APN. Enter the APN you wish to use and press Save & Apply.
Locking IP Address
By using static IP address settings, a fixed IP address will be used for a specific connected device, such as an M-Bus Gateway. To use static IP settings, go to Network -> LAN. Select "hostname" and enter the MAC address and the desired IP address for the connected device. Press Add and then Save.
Changing LTE Router Web Interface Password
To change the password for the LTE router's web interface, go to System -> Administration. Enter the new password and confirm it. Press Save.
Setting Up Port Forwarding Rules
Through the LTE router's web interface, custom port rules can be defined. Go to Network -> Firewall -> Port Forwarding. Navigate to the section titled "New Port Forward Rule", select a name for your rule, and set TCP as the protocol. Choose an external port that will be used by the LTE router to connect to the global network and an internal port that will be used when an external device connects to the router (When a CMe3100 connects to the LTE router, port 80 is typically used as the internal port). Finally, enter the IP address of the connected device. Press Add and then Save.
Configuring the M-Bus Metering Gateway
Refer to the quick manual for the CMe3100. It is available at www.elvaco.se.
