Assembly Instructions

Step 1: Mount the Fixture Support

Install the chain holder (EE) onto the nipple (FF). Next, loosely thread the hex nuts (AA) onto the nipple (FF) and then thread this assembly onto the mounting strap (CC). Install this assembly to the outlet box using the mounting screws supplied with the outlet box (not included). The diagram shows the mounting strap (CC) attached to the ceiling electrical box, with the nipple (FF) threaded through it and secured by hex nuts (AA). The chain holder (EE) is threaded onto the nipple.

Step 2: Adjust Canopy Depth

Adjust the depth of the chain holder in relation to the canopy depth. Take the canopy (HH) and slip it over the chain holder (EE). Adjust the chain holder so at least 1/4" [6mm] of the threaded portion of the nipple (FF) is exposed through the canopy hole. Tighten the top hex nut (AA) against the mounting strap (CC) and the bottom hex nut (AA) against the chain holder (EE) to secure the position. The diagram illustrates this adjustment process.

Step 3: Assemble Fixture Body

Pass the fixture wires (J) from the socket cluster (H) up through the stem (G) and swivel (F), and assemble the stem/swivel to the socket cluster (H). Tighten securely. Next, pass the wires (J) up through the fixture top plate (E) and secure the stem/swivel to the fixture (A) with the hex coupling (D). Tighten securely. Finally, pass the wires (J) up through the cover (C) and the chain loop (B). Attach the cover (C) onto the fixture (A) using the chain loop (B) to secure it tightly. The diagram shows the wires being routed through these components.

Step 4: Determine Hanging Length and Attach Chain

Determine the hanging length of your fixture by removing chain links (GG) and optionally cutting the electrical and ground wire to length. Do NOT cut electrical or ground wires until this overall length is determined. Leave at least 6 inches minimum of wire past the chain holder (EE) for easy connections. Chain links can be spread open with two pairs of pliers by twisting the split link ends in opposite directions and closing them by squeezing them back together.

Once hanging length is determined, open a chain link (GG) at one end and hook it onto the chain loop (B). Close the chain links back together with pliers. Open the quick link (JJ) by loosening the hex (JJ). Attach the other end of the chain (GG) along with the chain holder (EE) onto the quick link (JJ). Close the quick link by tightening the hex back up. Weave the wires through every third chain link (GG). Continue to pass the wires and chain through the screw collar (DD) and canopy (HH). The diagram illustrates these steps.

Step 5: Make Electrical Connections

Strip 3/8" of insulation from the electrical wire ends. Using wire nuts (BB), connect the ribbed fixture wire to the WHITE supply wire from the outlet box. Connect the smooth fixture wire to the BLACK supply wire. Connect the fixture ground wire and supply ground wire using a wire nut or by fastening to the ground screw on the mounting strap. Push all wire connections into the outlet box. The diagram shows the wire connections and the use of wire nuts.

Step 6: Secure Canopy

Tuck the wires into the junction box and slip the canopy (HH) over the chain holder. Thread the screw collar (DD) onto the chain holder to secure the canopy tightly to the ceiling. The diagram illustrates this final securing step.

Step 7: Install Lamps

Thread the lamps (not included) into the fixture sockets. Use 60-watt maximum incandescent candelabra base, SBCFL, or SBLED lamps.
