The locking devices can be deployed anywhere, within or outside network coverage. The unique credential technology in CUMULUS is tried and tested, developed to minimize vulnerabilities.

How it works

The CUMULUS system operates through a management tool, a backend service, a mobile app, and hardware.

1. Management tool of your choice: CUMULUS is managed with any software tool. ASSA ABLOY Access is provided as a visual user interface option.
2. ABLOY® CUMULUS backend: CUMULUS APIs deliver user invitations and access rights to mobile phones and audit data to business applications.
3. ABLOY® CUMULUS app: CUMULUS hardware is operated using users' mobile phones. Users are invited into the CUMULUS system via their mobile phone numbers.
4. ABLOY® CUMULUS hardware: Each mobile device is registered with advanced credential technology. Each CUMULUS locking device has a unique ID for granting access tokens for specified hardware and users within a time frame. CUMULUS hardware can be opened without cellular connection when access rights are updated on mobile devices before entering an offline area.

CUMULUS Padlock

The CUMULUS keyless smart padlock features a Bluetooth® Low Energy connection. The robust Super Weather Proof lock is designed for harsh conditions and is available in two versions: with a fixed shackle and with a removable shackle (both EN16864 security grade 4). Both versions offer IP66/68 protection.

The padlock is battery-powered with a real-time clock and Bluetooth® connection, accurately logging lock usage. It reports its status and audit trails via the mobile application to the backend service and management systems. The lock can also be supplied with backup power.

CUMULUS Controller

The CUMULUS controller is an ideal solution for concealing locking mechanisms and controlling access keylessly. It enables almost any electric lock or other electronic door locking device to work with a mobile app, compatible with ABLOY products and hardware from other brands with compatible wiring.

The controller tracks usage and automatically records opening and locking events, with logs accessible through your management system. It operates locally via a Bluetooth® connection with a downloaded mobile application.

CUMULUS Swing Handle

The CUMULUS Swing Handle is ideal for outdoor cabinets used by telecom, energy, and data centre companies, as well as utilities. It enables keyless opening using only a mobile phone.

The Swing Handle is battery-powered with a real-time clock, recording usage as an audit trail. If the battery depletes, the handle can be operated with a backup power source. A built-in mechanical backup is also available.

With a robust structure, the handle is waterproof and designed for harsh conditions, featuring IP66 and IK10 ratings and passing DIN EN 1630 RC2 burglary resistance tests.

CUMULUS Key Deposit

The CUMULUS Key Deposit enables keyless access to properties' maintenance keys via a smartphone using a Bluetooth® Low Energy connection. Property managers can conveniently grant different user groups access to properties through users' mobile phones, eliminating the need for key logistics and access control.

The key deposit is designed to perform in harsh conditions with IP66/68 and IK10 certifications.
