Feit Electric Floodlight Security Camera App User Guide
Before using this user guide, see the included Installation Guide for proper product installation.
NOTE: Only works with 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks. Go to your Wi-Fi settings and connect your phone to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. ?
Set Up Device
Follow these steps to set up your Floodlight Security Camera using the Feit Electric app.
Download the Feit Electric App
Download the Feit Electric app from the Apple App Store ? or Google Play ▶️.
Launch the App and Log In
Launch the Feit Electric App. Enter your email address to register or log into your account. Tap 'Continue'. A verification code will be sent to your email.
Create a Password
Create a password for your account and tap 'Done'.
Adding Device
Tap the ➕ icon in the upper right corner of the app. If this is your first device, you can also select 'Add Device'.
Select Device Type
Tap 'Security & Cameras', then select 'Floodlight Camera'.
Pairing Mode
When you first power up the Floodlight Security Camera, it will automatically enter pairing mode, indicated by a blinking blue LED light. Tap 'Confirm' to proceed. If the LED is not blinking blue, press and hold the Reset Button for 15 seconds or until you hear an audible tone. If it is blinking blue, proceed to step 8.
Wi-Fi Connection
Confirm you are connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Enter your Wi-Fi password and tap 'Confirm'.
NOTE: Please enable Bluetooth ? for EZ Mode pairing.
QR Code Utilization
For QR code setup, hold your phone approximately 6-12 inches from the device. When you hear an audible tone, tap 'I heard the beep' ✔️.
Adding Device Status
The 'Adding device' status window will appear. Wait for the connection to complete. If successful, proceed to step 13. If you encounter an error message, check the troubleshooting options provided in the app and tap 'Retry'.
Alternate Connection (EZ Mode)
An alternate connection option, EZ Mode, is available. Tap the ➕ icon, then select 'EZ Mode' and tap 'Done'. Follow the on-screen prompts to select a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and enter your password.
Rename Device
Once the device is successfully added, tap the ✏️ icon to rename your device. Save the new name and tap 'Done'.
Use Device
Access and control your floodlight camera through the Feit Electric app's control panel.
Access Control Panel
Tap the device icon to enter the control panel for your Floodlight Camera.
Live Streaming
View live streaming video from your camera. You can take action as needed, such as talking to visitors, playing back stored video, or capturing video and screenshots to your mobile device.
Select HD or SD video quality for viewing.
Screenshot
Tap 'Screenshot' ? to save a still image of the current video feed to your Album. Video is always recorded in HD to the MicroSD card ? for later review.
Talk
Tap 'Talk' ? to speak with visitors. Ensure the audio icon is ON to hear audio.
Capture Video
Tap 'Record' ? to manually capture and save video clips to your Album. Tap 'Record' again to stop and save.
Playback
Tap 'Playback' ▶️ to view recorded video clips or screenshots, or to download events from your local MicroSD card. Swipe on the time bar to navigate through recorded video. Motion-activated video is recorded in HD for clear playback.
Light Control
Tap 'Light' ? to adjust brightness, set schedules, or turn the lights On/Off. You can tap 'Brightness' to adjust light levels or use the power button to toggle the lights.
Tap 'Schedules' from the light menu to set custom times for your lights to turn On/Off. Choose specific times and set days for repetition by tapping 'Repeat'.
Motion Detection
Tap 'Motion' ?♂️ to configure motion detection zones and timers for lights and recording. You can turn zones On/Off by tapping them and adjust motion detection sensitivity (Low, Middle, High). Set the duration for how long lights and recording stay active after motion is detected.
NOTE: Lights will turn on at night if motion is detected. You can also control lights via the app.
Siren
From the control panel, scroll down to access the 'Siren' feature. Tap 'Siren' then tap the power button icon to activate it. ?
911 Emergency Call
From the control panel, scroll down to access the '911' feature. Tap '911' then tap the 'Call 911' button. ?
Device Sharing
Access 'Device Settings' by tapping the ✏️ icon on the control panel. Settings include Basic Settings, Advanced Settings, Storage, and Others.
Advanced Settings & Features
15. Adjust Basic Feature Settings
From the device Settings, tap 'Basic Feature Settings'. Here you can:
- Indicator Light: Turn the indicator light On/Off.
- Flip Camera Screen: Flip the camera display 180 degrees.
- Time Watermark: Enable or disable the time stamp on video feeds.
- Audio Mode: Choose between 'One-Way' (audio works one way at a time) or 'Two-Way' (audio works simultaneously).
16. Select SD Card and Record Setting
From the device Settings, tap 'SD Card and Record Settings'.
NOTE: The maximum MicroSD card storage is 128GB. Do not use a card exceeding this capacity. ?
Ensure the 'Record Switch' is ON to record video. In 'Recording Mode', select between 'Event Recording' (records only when motion is detected) or 'Continuous Recording' (records 24/7).
17. Notifications
To enable push notifications, exit the control panel and tap 'Profile' ? at the bottom of the screen. Then tap 'Settings' ⚙️, followed by 'Push Notifications' ✉️.
Tap the toggle button to turn 'Enable Notifications' ON. Notifications will be stored in the 'Message Center', displayed by date.
21. Device Sharing
From the Home Page, tap 'Profile' ?. Tap 'Share Devices' ?, then tap 'Add' ➕ in the upper right corner. Select the device you wish to share, enter the recipient's email address, and tap 'Done'.
NOTE: New members must set up an account before sharing is possible.
Smart Scenes
From the 'My Home' page, tap 'Smart Scenes' at the bottom of the screen. Use Scenes to set up an action or a group of actions to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Tap the ➕ icon.
- Tap 'Launch Scenes'.
- Tap 'Run the device'.
- Select your device to execute an action.
- On the 'Select Function' screen, tap the desired action.
- Once your action(s) are configured, tap 'Save'.
- Your action(s) will appear under the 'Scene' tab and on your 'My Home' screen for quick execution.
Automation
From the 'My Home' page, tap 'Smart Scenes' at the bottom of the screen. Use Automation to execute actions based on specific conditions (e.g., Sunrise/Sunset, Location Change ?, Schedule, Device Status).
- Tap the ➕ icon.
- Set a condition you would like to trigger.
- Set up a task you would like to automate.
- Review your automations, edit if necessary, and tap 'Save'.
- Your automation will appear under the 'Automation' tab.
Connect to Alexa
Tap 'Profile' ? at the bottom right. Tap 'Use Alexa and Google Assistant'. Tap 'Amazon Alexa'. Tap 'Link'. You will be linked to your Amazon Alexa app. Sign in to Amazon Alexa (create an account if needed). Tap 'Link with Amazon Alexa'. Once linked, you can control your device with voice commands, e.g., "Alexa, turn Smart Floodlight on."
NOTE: Additional devices added to the Feit Electric app will be added automatically.
Connect to Google Assistant
Tap 'Profile' ? at the bottom right. Tap 'Use Alexa and Google Assistant'. Tap 'Google Assistant'. Tap 'Link'. You will be linked to your Google Assistant app. Sign in to Google Assistant (create an account if needed). Tap 'Link with Google Assistant'. Once linked, you can control your device with voice commands, e.g., "Hey Google, turn Smart Floodlight on."
NOTE: Additional devices added to the Feit Electric app will be added automatically.
Enable Siri Shortcuts
(For use with iPhone ?)
From the 'My Home' page, tap 'Smart Scenes'. In the 'Scene Tab', tap 'Add to Siri' at the bottom. In the 'Siri Shortcut' screen, tap the action you wish to add to Siri. On the 'Add to Siri' screen, give it a custom phrase (e.g., "Start continuous recording") and tap 'Add to Siri'. You can now use "Hey Siri" commands to control this action.
NOTE: Use Siri to activate a scene through voice control. If you haven't created a scene, refer to the 'Smart Scenes' section.
