Power Management Function: Electronically controlled function that detects maximum power output (e.g., 3.7 kW / 16 A for combined zones), optimizes power distribution, and avoids overloads. It continuously monitors total power and reduces it if necessary. If required total power cannot be supplied, a control element reduces another element's power to avoid exceeding 16 A. The system prioritizes the last command received. Power management is also activated upon pot detection. Example: If Boost (P) is selected for one zone, other zones may be limited to level 5.
Induction Hob Operation: Unlike conventional hobs, induction hobs use an induction coil under the glass ceramic surface to create a rapidly varying magnetic field that heats the pan's base directly. The glass ceramic surface is heated only by the hot pot. Power is interrupted immediately when the pot is removed.
Pot Detection: Each zone has a pot detection system that recognizes pans with a magnetizable base suitable for induction. If a pot is removed during operation or an unsuitable pot is used, the indicator next to the bar graph with the symbol blinks. If no pot is placed on the zone within 20 seconds, the zone switches off automatically, and the display shows " ".
Suitable Pots: Only pots with a fully magnetizable base are suitable. A magnet should adhere to any point of the base. Suitable pots: Enameled steel pots with thick bases, cast iron pots with enameled bases, multi-layer stainless steel, ferritic stainless steel, and aluminum with special bases. Unsuitable pots: Copper, stainless steel, aluminum, heat-resistant glass, wood, ceramic, and terracotta. To test suitability, place a magnet near the base; if attracted, it's suitable. Alternatively, place a small amount of water in the pot, switch on a zone, and check for the " " symbol on the display.
Energy Saving Tips: Pot base diameter should match the cooking zone diameter. Check pot diameter specifications (base vs. top). Use pressure cookers for long cooking times to save energy and preserve vitamins. Ensure sufficient liquid in pressure cookers. Always cover pots with a lid. Use a pot suitable for the quantity of food; large, partially filled pots waste energy.
Cooking Noises: Pots can make noises during cooking, which is normal and does not indicate malfunction. Noise depends on pot type. If disturbing, try changing the pot.
Hob Operating Noises: Induction technology generates electromagnetic fields that heat the pot base. Noises can occur:
- Light Humming: Occurs at high heat levels, determined by energy transfer. Stops or reduces when heat is lowered.
- Light Sizzling: Occurs with empty containers, stops when filled.
- Crackling: Occurs with layered materials in pots, caused by surface vibrations. Varies with quantity and preparation type.
- Strong Sizzling: Occurs with layered materials, at maximum speed, or on two zones. Stops or reduces when heat is lowered.
- Fan Noises: Cooling fan activates to regulate electronic component temperature. May continue running after appliance is switched off if temperature is still high.
- Rhythmic Ticking: Occurs when at least three zones are active; disappears or reduces when some are switched off.
These noises are normal characteristics of induction technology and not considered faults.
Appliance Switch-on: Press and hold the button to switch on. "0" is displayed on all power level indicators. If no other selection is made, the appliance switches off after 20 seconds for safety.
Zone Selection: Press the reference digit button for one or more zones and set the power level.
