Firmware Update Procedure

1. Checking Current Firmware Version

Verify your unit's current firmware version via the 'System Information' menu to determine if an update is needed. An update is recommended if the version is lower than 1.56.

2. Downloading Firmware Files

Download the correct firmware file (e.g., SPH-EVO950DAB_FW_Ver156.ZIP) to your computer and extract the .avh file to a folder.

3. Preparing the USB Device

Format a USB storage device (FAT32 or NTFS) with a minimum capacity of 512MB. Copy the extracted firmware file (SPH-EVO950DAB.avh) to the root folder of the USB device. Ensure no other files are present.

4. Performing the Firmware Update

Connect the USB device to your unit, set the audio source to OFF, navigate to 'Settings' > 'System Information' > 'Firmware Update', select 'USB', and touch 'Continue'. Read the warning and touch 'Start' to begin the update. Monitor the progress screen and do not interrupt the process.

5. Completing the Update

Once the update is successful ("It succeeded..."), disconnect the USB device. The product will reboot. After rebooting, check the firmware version again to confirm the update.

6. Restoring Settings

It is recommended to restore the unit's settings after the firmware update for changes to take effect. Navigate to 'Settings' > 'Restore Settings' and touch 'Restore'. The unit will reboot automatically.
