Radio Frequency Signal Penetration
The penetration of radio frequency signals varies depending on the construction materials used in a building. The table below indicates typical signal strength through different materials:
Material | Signal Penetration (%) |
---|---|
Wooden structures with plaster boards | 80-95% |
Common glass | 80-90% |
Brick walls | 60-90% |
Reinforced concrete | 20-60% |
Metal partitions | 0-10% |
Indicators and Settings
LED Indicator Behavior
Upon battery insertion, the red LED lights up continuously for 3 seconds. For the next 5 seconds, the LED flashes to indicate the selected controller function:
- Double flash: Standard RFIO² operating mode.
- Rapid flashing: Compatibility mode with older actuators.
To retain the current function, do not press any buttons during this indication period.
Switching Operating Modes (RFIO² vs. Compatibility)
To change the controller's operating mode: After inserting the battery, while the LED is continuously lit, press and hold buttons 1 and 3 simultaneously. Release the buttons when the LED signals the changed mode (double flash or rapid flash). The selected mode is stored in memory.
RFIO² Learning Mode
To link the controller with actuators in RFIO² mode:
- Remove the battery from the remote control.
- Press several buttons to discharge internal capacitors.
- Reinsert the battery.
- When the LED lights up, press and hold button 1 until the controller signals learning mode (short LED flashes).
- Release button 1. The controller is now in RFIO² learning mode.
- To exit learning mode: Remove the battery, press several buttons, and reinsert the battery. Do not press any buttons upon reinsertion; the controller will return to RFIO² operating mode.
Battery Insertion and Replacement
Step 1: Use a coin to open the key fob and remove the front cover. Carefully detach the device from the bottom cover.
Step 2: Slide the CR2032 battery into the battery holder, observing correct polarity (+/-).
Step 3: Insert the device back into the bottom cover, ensuring it clicks into place. Attach the front cover.

Safe Handling and Warnings
Safe Handling
When handling the device outside its casing, avoid contact with liquids. Do not place the device on conductive surfaces or objects, and avoid unnecessary contact with its components.
General Warnings
This manual is intended for both installation and user purposes. Installation and connection should only be performed by qualified personnel familiar with the device's functions and adhering to all valid regulations. Proper transportation, storage, and handling are crucial for trouble-free operation. Do not install a damaged or incomplete device. Dispose of the product and its parts as electronic waste at the end of its life. Ensure all power is disconnected before installation. Observe safety regulations, norms, and directives for electrical devices. Never touch energized parts, as this poses a risk of electric shock. Due to RF signal transmission, ensure correct placement of RF components within the building. RF Control devices are designed for indoor use only and must not be installed in exterior or humid spaces. Installation in metal or plastic switchboards with metal doors is not recommended as it obstructs RF signal transmission. RF Control is not recommended for controlling critical life-support systems (e.g., pumps, heaters without thermostats, elevators) as RF signals can be shielded, interfered with, or the battery may deplete, disabling remote control.
