Product Overview
The EUROPORT HPA40 is a compact PA system featuring a 40-watt amplifier, a 5" full-range speaker, and a rechargeable battery for up to 8 hours of operation. It includes inputs for microphones and external audio sources, as well as a USB port for optional wireless microphone receivers.
Controls
- 1. LOUDSPEAKER: The main speaker unit.
- 2. CARRY HANDLE: For easy portability.
- 3. HOLES FOR SHOULDER STRAP: For attaching an optional shoulder strap.
- 4. MIC LEVEL: Rotary control to adjust the microphone input volume.
- 5. POWER: Switch to turn the device on or off. The POWER LED lights up when the unit is powered on.
- 6. LOW BAT LED: Illuminates when the rechargeable battery needs charging.
- 7. CHARGE LED: Flashes yellow during battery charging and turns off when charging is complete.
- 8. MIC IN: Connect the included Behringer XM1800S microphone here. Important: Never hold the microphone directly in front of the loudspeaker to avoid feedback. Always position the microphone behind the loudspeaker during operation.
- 9. LINE IN: Connect external audio sources like CD players or MP3 players.
- 10. DC IN Connector: Connect the included power adapter here for charging the battery or mains operation. Use only the supplied power supply.
- 11. COMPARTMENT FOR BATTERY AND SHOULDER STRAP: Located on the unit, this compartment houses the battery. Open the cover and latch to access and insert the battery, ensuring correct terminal orientation (positive terminal, red, on the left side of the control panel).
- 12. DIGITAL WIRELESS USB Input: Accepts optional Behringer ULM wireless microphone receivers. The LED indicates wireless microphone signal input.
- SERIAL NUMBER: Located on the bottom side of the unit.
Charging the Battery
The EUROPORT HPA40 comes with a built-in rechargeable battery providing up to 8 hours of continuous audio playback. For best performance, fully charge the battery before first use.
Charging Procedure:
- Turn off the HPA40 using the POWER switch.
- Connect the unit to an AC power outlet using the supplied adapter. The CHARGE LED will illuminate.
- Keep the unit connected to AC power until the CHARGE LED indicates the battery is fully charged.
Notes:
- The HPA40 uses a sealed lead-acid gel battery that self-discharges slowly when not in use.
- For extended storage, fully charge the battery before storing and recharge it every 3 months.
- Recharge the battery every 3 months for continued operation. Replace the battery if operating time noticeably decreases even after a full charge.
