Product Overview

The HoMedics Shiatsu Neck Massager is designed to provide a relaxing Shiatsu massage for your neck and shoulder muscles. It features gentle heating to soothe tired muscles and is shaped to contour to your neck.

The device has a control panel with a switch to select between Shiatsu massage, Shiatsu massage with heat, or off. The massage heads are illuminated with red light when the heating function is active.

The massager includes integrated handles for easy positioning.

General Safety

• Always unplug the electrical appliance from the outlet immediately after use and before cleaning.
• To disconnect, turn all controls to the 'OFF' position, then remove the plug from the outlet.

• Use this appliance only for its intended use as described in this manual. Do not use attachments not recommended by HoMedics.
• Never operate this appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working properly, if it has been dropped or damaged, or dropped into water. Return the appliance to the HoMedics Service Center for examination and repair.
• Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
• Do not operate the appliance with the air openings blocked or on a soft surface, such as a bed or couch, where the air openings may be blocked. Keep air openings free of lint, hair, etc.
• Never drop or insert any object into any opening.
• Do not use outdoors.
• Do not crush the appliance. Avoid sharp bends.
• This appliance requires a 220-240V AC power supply.
• Do not attempt to repair the appliance yourself. There are no user-serviceable parts in this appliance. For service, return this appliance to the HoMedics Service Center.
• All servicing of this electrical appliance must be performed by authorized HoMedics service personnel only.
• Do not place the appliance where it can fall into a bathtub or sink. Keep away from water and other liquids.

Specific Precautions

• Individuals with electronic heart stimulators and pregnant women should consult a doctor before using this appliance.
• This appliance is not recommended for individuals suffering from diabetes.
• DO NOT use on infants, invalids, or sleeping or unconscious persons. DO NOT use on insensitive skin or on a person with poor circulation.
• This electrical appliance should NEVER be used by anyone who has a physical ailment that would limit the user’s ability to operate the controls or anyone who lacks sufficient sensation in the lower half of their body.
• NEVER use the appliance directly on swollen or inflamed areas or skin eruptions.
• If you experience any discomfort while using this appliance, discontinue use and consult your doctor.
• This is a non-professional appliance designed for individual use to massage tired muscles. It is not intended to be a substitute for medical attention.
• DO NOT use the appliance just before going to bed. The massage produces a stimulating effect and may delay sleep.
• Do not use the appliance for longer than the recommended time.
• The appliance is not recommended for use on wooden surfaces, as the zipper may damage the wood.
• Exercise caution when using the appliance on upholstered furniture.
• Use caution with heated surfaces. If the appliance becomes excessively hot, unplug it and contact the HoMedics Service Center.
• Do not use the appliance under a blanket or pillow. Overheating can cause fire, electric shock, or injury.
• Do not carry the appliance by the cord or use the cord as a handle.

Operating Instructions

Note: The heating function provides gentle, pleasant warmth. Do not use the device continuously for more than 15 minutes at a time.

1. Plug the unit into a 220-240V outlet.
2. Hold the massager by the handles and place it around your neck in a comfortable position.
3. To activate the massage function, slide the switch on the control panel to the 'Shiatsu' position. (See Fig. 2)
4. To activate the heating function, with the massage function on, slide the regulator switch to the 'Shiatsu / Heat' position. (See Fig. 2) The massage heads will illuminate with a red light.
5. To deactivate the heating function, simply slide the switch to the 'OFF' position.

Maintenance

Cleaning

• Before cleaning, unplug the appliance from the power outlet and allow it to cool down.
• Clean the appliance with a soft, slightly damp sponge only.
• Never allow water or other liquids to come into contact with the appliance.
• Do not immerse the appliance in any liquid for cleaning.
• Never use abrasive cleaners, brushes, furniture/glass polish, paint thinners, or other harsh chemical cleaners.

Washing the Cover

• Unzip and remove the cover.
• Follow the instructions on the care label.
• Once the cover is dry, replace it and zip it closed.

Storage

• Store the appliance in its original packaging or in a safe, dry, cool place.
• Avoid contact with sharp edges or pointed objects that could cut or puncture the fabric.
• To avoid damage to the power cord, do not wrap it tightly around the appliance.
• DO NOT hang the appliance by the power cord.
