Power Consumption Table

ModelPower Consumption

Step 2: Powering Up the DVR

Upon booting, the DVR enters protective mode and displays the password setup screen.

  1. Set a new password (minimum 8 characters, with at least four combinations of uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and special characters).
  2. Follow the startup wizard for initial configuration.

Important: To prevent overheating, do not operate the DVR in temperatures exceeding 104°F (40°C). Ensure at least 3 inches (7.6 cm) of clearance around ventilation openings for proper airflow.

Note: HD Monitor output and VGA output cannot be used simultaneously.

Step 3: Startup Wizard

The startup wizard guides you through basic settings like language, date/time, and network configuration. You can skip steps, go back, or exit to configure manually.

Network Settings: It is recommended to set the network type to "AUTOCONN." for auto-detection, then change to static. Consult your network administrator for details. Save settings by pressing "APPLY" and proceed with "NEXT". Consider using the PathFinder™ option for remote access.

Step 4: UTC and PTZ Camera Control

The DVR supports full camera control via coaxial connection (UTC), eliminating the need for an additional RS485 connection, provided the camera also supports UTC.

To add a UTC or PTZ camera:

  1. Right-click on the screen, navigate to "MENU" > "DEVICE" > "PTZ".
  2. Camera type and protocol will auto-detect. For UTC cameras, baudrate and address settings are disabled.
  3. Press the "PROGRAM" button under "CONTROL" to manage camera menus and settings. Refer to the user manual for more information.

Diagram Description: A diagram shows a camera connected to a DVR via a coaxial cable, illustrating the UTC connection path.

Step 5: Monitor Your System

Navigate the DVR interface using the included USB mouse:

Navigation:

  • Access the menu bar by moving the cursor to the bottom of the display or clicking the pin icon.
  • Access the quick menu by right-clicking anywhere on the screen. Options include: Display Mode, Digital Zoom, PTZ control, Freeze image, Add Bookmark, Playback, Search, Thumbnail Search, Recording status, Health Check, and the main MENU.

Help: A help button on setup screens provides on-the-go information about features and settings.

Step 6: Mobile App Remote Monitoring

Monitor your system remotely using the DW Mobile Plus™ app without complex port forwarding.

To enable QR code on DVR:

  1. Right-click on the screen, navigate to "MENU" > "NETWORK" > "PATHFINDER™".
  2. Check "USE PATHFINDER" and click "Save".
  3. A mobile access QR code will appear. The status should indicate "PATHFINDER™ SERVICE ACTIVATED".

To view DVR on mobile app:

  1. Download the DW Mobile Plus™ app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
  2. Launch the app and go to the Site menu to register a new site.
  3. Press the QR icon next to the Host field.
  4. Align the DVR's QR code within the mobile app's camera frame.
  5. Once scanned, the IP address field will show the DVR's MAC address.
  6. Complete registration by adding device name, port number, username, and password. Select "SAVE".
  7. The new site will appear in your sites list.
