VS41 Intelligent 4 Camera Switcher
Product Overview and Installation Guide
Introduction & Features
The VS41 is an intelligent 4-camera switcher designed to control front, rear, and blind spot cameras. It offers flexible connectivity options, allowing manual connection of cameras and trigger wires (pulsed or constant inputs), or full digital control via PAC interface modules (like BCI, RP4.2, RPA) through an expansion port. The VS41 also accepts analog +/- and constant/pulsed signals. It features a priority switching system where lower numbered inputs take precedence over higher ones. A 150 mA 12V (+) reverse trigger output is provided when any input trigger is active. By default, the video output displays Input 1 when no triggers are active, making it ideal for the reverse camera. Upon deactivation of the last trigger, the selected video source and reverse trigger output remain active for an additional 3 seconds (this feature is not applicable when used with BCI, RP4.2, or RP5.2 interfaces). For optimal performance, ensure quality RCA connections to prevent poor video quality.
Positive input triggers accept voltages in the range of 2V to 12V.
Wiring Connection Chart
The VS41 features the following connections:
- Video Output: Connects to the aftermarket radio's video input.
- Video 1 Input (Reverse Camera): Typically used for the rear camera.
- Video 2 Input (Front Camera): For the front camera.
- Video 3 Input (Left Blind Spot): For the left blind spot camera.
- Video 4 Input (Right Blind Spot): For the right blind spot camera.
VS41 Wire Connections:

---|---|
White | Input 1 trigger (+) / Reverse Trigger Input (+) |
White / Black | Input 1 trigger (-) |
Gray | Input 2 trigger (+) |
Gray / Black | Input 2 trigger (-) / Front Camera Trigger (-) |
Green | Input 3 trigger (+) / Left Blind Spot Trigger Input (+) |
Green / Black | Input 3 trigger (-) |
Purple | Input 4 trigger (+) / Right Blind Spot Trigger Input (+) |
Purple / Black | Input 4 trigger (-) |

Note: Always verify signals with a multimeter before connecting.
Vehicle Specific Applications & Installation Notes
The VS41 is designed for integration with PAC radio replacement interfaces and offers vehicle-specific wiring instructions for various models:
- 2003-2006 Chevrolet/GMC Trucks and SUVs: Connects via GM1A interface. Analog turn signal wires and reverse output trigger from GM1A need to be connected. Input 2 can be manually activated via a toggle switch or automatically via the RadioPRO PC application.
- 2014-2017 Chevrolet Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe; 2014-2017 GMC Sierra, Yukon: Utilizes RP5-GM51 interface. Specific wire connections at the Body Control Module (BCM) are detailed for triggers.
- 2015-2017 Chevrolet Colorado; 2015-2017 GMC Canyon: Also uses RP5-GM51 interface with similar BCM wiring connections.
- 2016-2017 Nissan Titan: Requires Best Kits harness BHA7552. Specific wire connections at the BCM and passenger kick panel are provided.
- 2014-2017 Toyota Tundra: Uses RP4.2-TY11 interface. Wiring details involve connections at the passenger kick panel and dash fuse box.
RadioPRO App Functionality
The RadioPRO PC application allows customization of the front camera's behavior. Options include activation based on vehicle speed (e.g., less than 3, 5, or 7 MPH) or based on gear selection (e.g., "On when Shift into D until 6MPH or 30sec" or "On when Shift out of R until 6MPH or 30Sec"). These settings can be configured without the GM1A interface being powered or in the vehicle.
Technical Bulletin: False Triggering of Blind Spot Cameras
Issue: The VS41 may falsely trigger blind spot cameras (Inputs 3 or 4) when engaging brakes or turning on parking lights.
Solution: For hardware versions V7 or lower, a resistor between 40kΩ and 60kΩ should be wired in series with the analog trigger wire for the affected camera input (Input 3 or 4). This issue is resolved internally in V8 hardware.
Important Notes:
- This solution applies only to V7 or lower hardware.
- Resistors are only needed for the specific wires experiencing the false trigger.
Diagram Description: A wiring diagram illustrates the connection of a 40kΩ - 60kΩ resistor in series with the Green (Input 3 trigger +), Green/Black (Input 3 trigger -), Purple (Input 4 trigger +), and Purple/Black (Input 4 trigger -) wires of the VS41.
