Step 1: Download and register eSIM on hi!App in Singapore.
Download the hi! app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
a. Go to the hi! app and tap "Manage new Number".
The app displays a login screen. Enter your prepaid mobile number and tap "LOG IN". Below the login button, options include "Top up for others" and "Manage new number".
b. Tap "Set up new eSIM".
The hi! app presents a menu with the following options: "Register new SIM card", "Check registration status", "Set up new eSIM", and "Resend eSIM confirmation email".
Step 2: Enter eSIM details.
On the "Enter eSIM details" screen, you will need to enter the eSIM reference number that was sent to your email. The verification code is a combination of the last 4 characters of your ID and your Date of Birth in MMYYYY format. For example, if your ID ends in '123Z' and your DOB is February 19, 1990, the verification code would be '123Z021990'.
Step 3: Verify Identity
Enter your Passport information. The app prompts you to help identify yourself by selecting an "Identification Document" from a dropdown list.
Step 4: Scan Identity document & Upload
Scan your Passport Front Page. The hi! app will request permission to take pictures and record video.
Follow the on-screen instructions to position your passport for scanning, ensuring the front page is clearly visible.
Step 5: Face Validation
a. Position your face in the center of the frame to complete the registration step.
The app will display a frame and guide you to align your face within it for validation.
b. Refresh the eSIM registration page in 2 to 5 minutes to ensure eSIM is successfully registered.
After the face validation, an "eSIM registration" screen will appear, showing "Review in progress". It states that your details are being processed and advises you to refresh the page in approximately 5 minutes to view the status. Buttons available are "Refresh" and "Back to home".
Step 6: Install eSIM after successful registration
a. Tap "Install eSIM now.".
Upon successful registration, a "Registration successful" message will be displayed. It will inform you that the eSIM installation instructions will be sent to your email address within the next 5 minutes. You have the option to "Install eSIM now" or "Install later".
b. Tap "Auto install eSIM".
Ensure you are connected to a stable internet connection. The automatic installation process will take about 5 minutes. Alternatively, you can select "Email manual installation steps".
Step 7: Select eSIM in mobile data settings
For iOS Phone:
1. Go to your device Settings > Mobile Data. Tap "Add Cellular Plan".
Your iPhone will prompt you to add a cellular plan from Singtel.
2. Tap "eSIM" > Done.
You will then be able to choose labels for your cellular plans, such as "Primary" or "Global eSIM". Tap "Done" to confirm the setup.
For Android Phone:
1. Go to your device Settings > Connections.
The main settings menu will display various connection options, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and SIM manager.
2. Tap "SIM manager".
The SIM manager screen lists various options such as NFC, Flight mode, SIM manager, Mobile networks, and Data usage.
3. Tap on "Calls", "Messages", and "Mobile Data" and change to eSIM.
In the SIM management section, under "Preferred SIMs", you can assign SIM 1 for Calls, Messages, and Mobile Data. You can then add an eSIM to connect to mobile networks without needing a physical SIM card.
