Scheppach MTP 750 Cultivator: Operating Fluids and Initial Setup
Filling Gearbox Oil
Caution! The MTP 750 petrol cultivator is delivered without gearbox oil. Oil must be filled before operation. Use multi-grade oil (SAE 15W-40). Insufficient oil level can damage the gearbox.
- Place the petrol cultivator on a level, straight surface.
- Unscrew the gearbox oil filler plug (17).
- Fill the tank with oil using a funnel*. Pay attention to the maximum fill quantity of 1 liter. Carefully fill the oil up to the lower edge of the filler neck.
- Screw the gearbox oil filler plug (17) back in.
Fluid Capacities:
- Fuel: Super E10 Petrol
- Tank Capacity: 3.6 L
- Engine Oil: 0.6 L (15W40)
- Gearbox Oil: 1 L (15W40)

Filling Engine Oil
Caution! The petrol cultivator is delivered without engine oil. Oil must be filled before operation. Use multi-grade oil (SAE 15W-40). Check the oil level regularly before each use. Insufficient oil level can damage the engine.
- Place the petrol cultivator on a level, straight surface.
- Unscrew the oil filler plug with dipstick (23).
- Fill the tank with engine oil using a funnel*. Pay attention to the maximum fill quantity of 600 ml. Carefully fill the oil up to the lower edge of the filler neck.
- Wipe the oil filler plug with dipstick (23) with a clean, lint-free cloth.
- Reinsert the oil filler plug with dipstick (23) and check the oil level without screwing the dipstick in tightly.
- The oil level must be within the middle marking on the dipstick.
- If the oil level is too low, add the recommended amount of oil (max. 600 ml).
- Screw the oil filler plug with dipstick (23) back in.
Filling Oil in the Air Filter Housing
Use oil of type SAE 10W-30 / 10W-40. Fill the oil exclusively into the designated container.
- Loosen the wing nut (20a) on the air filter cover (20).
- Remove the air filter cover (20).
- Fill the container up to the marking with oil.
- Reassemble the air filter cover (20) with the wing nut (20a).

Filling Fuel
The petrol cultivator is delivered without petrol. Petrol must be filled before operation. Use Super E5 or E10 petrol.
- Clean the area around the filler opening. Contaminants in the tank will cause operational disturbances.
- Carefully open the tank cap to release any existing overpressure.
- Fill the fuel tank (21) with petrol using a funnel*. Pay attention to the maximum fill quantity of 3.6 L. Carefully fill the petrol up to the lower edge of the filler neck.
- Close the tank cap again. Ensure the tank cap seals tightly.
- Clean the tank cap and the surrounding area.
- Check the fuel tank (21) and fuel lines for leaks.
- Move at least three meters away from the refueling area before starting the engine.
